X45 8.1 HO 425hp best prop?

There are a lot of you x45 owners out there who know this stuff so thought to ask you for advice. What is the best prop, If I want to sacrifice some top end speed and improve acceleration and fuel economy while surfing loaded with around 2000-2500lbs? Thanks.

I have a LY6 and run the 5 blade prop from OJ (2009 X45). When we surf we have all stock tanks full, 2X 750 rear lockers full, 2X300 front lockers full, 2 X 400lbs sacs under port seats, and 1200lbs sac on port side floor. at 10.8 mph I am turning 4100 rpms. Wake is really nice. Prop hauls the boat up nicely. I am happy with the higher RPMs as the motor is not working as hard. We had 10 people in the boat with all the ballast and RPMs went to 4500 to hold the speed. The wake was massive but the boat was slammed to a point I was not comfortable with.

I do however hit the rev limiter at about 34mph empty. Wake board RPMs are about 4300 at 24mph. This prop really holds the speed nicely especially when loaded heavy. I am very happy.

I don't track fuel usage so I cant comment.

That is some ballast mannand seems also that your prop is really maxed out. I am looking not to drop that much top speed and also the wakeboarding revs should remain under 4000rpms... I will be removing my prop tomorrow to see what it is... I have a brand new acme 1285, but I am scared that it will be way too little pitch...

Acme 1285 is awesome. If you're not running extreme ballast that is the prop you want. You will lose a couple MPH off top end but great hole shot. Acme 2305 would be if you're really weighted down.

I'm running the ACME 849 for surfing... a modest improvement over factory prop for GPH, but hole shot was much improved.

Ok. I took the prop off the shaft and firstly have to say that I could not believe my eye when trying out the harmonic prop puller... That thing REALLY works. I barely touched it with the hammer and the prop came right off. I am hugely impressed and won't be using the C clamp puller any longer. I highly recommend having a HP HanDY NEXT TIME YOU think of upgrading your prop.
Anyway, the prop that the boat had is a OJ 13.7 x 19.5 I believe... It was very hard reading the size from the end of the prop as the numbers were somewhat worn... So now I believe I was right by thinking after the test drive that the boat did not plane as a sports cars... Even with this huge big engine I believe there has to be a much much better prop out there for surfing and general cruising that would transmit the engine power &torque to water better than this tiny prop does? I have a 1285 now, should I stick to that or go with something else?

What kind of RPM's are you turning at WOT, hows' the hole shot, how is getting up on plane compared to previous prop... lot's to think about..... Talk to Eric at OJ or Acme -
