Another trailer blasted & painted
3 Attachment(s)
I found myself in the same boat (no pun intended) as many earlier in the year. My trailer desperately needed paint and I was considering just taping it off and doing a rattle can job to cover up the bare & surface rusting steel. I finally decided that wanted to sand blast it and shoot with a spray gun to get a nice finish. I ended up borrowing a buddies' trailer to hold my PS205, so I didn't need to worry about hoisting it.
I borrowed a friend's blaster and had at it. The sand gets expensive since you need to use the fine stuff and I didn't try to re-use since I wanted to power through it.
Once blasted and cleaned out, I laid down 2-3 coats of Rust Bullet and followed with 2-3 coats of Rust Bullet Blackshell. No pics, but I added all new LED lights and rewired with all soldered and watertight connections. I am happy with the outcome but it was a lot of work and I'm not sure I'd do it again!
Pic #1 about 1/2 way through blasting.
Pic #2 after 2 coats of Rust Bullet.
Pic #3 after 1 coat of Blackshell.
