1979 stars and stripe - uk renovation
I bought myself a 1979 stars and stripes at the start of this season for my first years skiing and have loved it. It has never let me down and works as good as all the other more expensive boats in my club. However I am starting to thjnk about little jobs to do once the season finishes to tidy it up a little bit.

Heres how she stands at the minute

I have a few small things to sort out. Mainly

I want to moderinise the interior a bit including installing a rear bench seat, some sort of side panels with some speakers, a stereo system and also possibly (if it will fit) a later style engine cover like a prostar or similar with the vinyl covering.

I need the bench to cover my gas tank. Is this available as standard or is it going to be a case of diy? Anyone got any plans.

Also the outside has a few marks on it, it is 34 years old after all, but there just bugging me. Mainly the stripe around the boat. Is this painted on or a sticker?
This is the worst bit

Also over the next few weeks I want to clean up the trailer. It is in quite a bad way but all solid so want to paint it all. (Spray or brush on?) Do the wheel bearings, recover bunks and behind fenders (any specific type of carpet?) And hopefully install led lights so I dont have to mess around taking my trailer board on and off all the time.

I think thats all for now. Any help appreciated and keep posted for my updates.

Isn't that John Lennon's house there?

I want to go along with a guy that brings 16 gallons of beer along with the boat. :toast:

there should be some plans on here somewhere for a rear seat. Definitely be a DIY project.

Yeah definitely a DIY project for the rear bench. You can buy bunk carpet specifically made for trailer bunks. I would spray the trailer, unless you don't mind seeing brush strokes.

Show us some pics of the engine with the LPG conversion.

Not to steer you away from here, but there's a UK and Europe contingent on the CCFan forums that have LPG conversions and have done a lot of repairs and updates, and upholstery work too.
