Engine spray
Any recommendations for an engine exterior preservative/anti-corrosion spray product?

WD -40 specialist corrosion inhibitor...

if you have rust get some TNT rust remover and/or ... Cleaned up my manifolds outside and partially in. Going to clean up the water jacket and water pathways this fall.

The 3rd pic shows a reduction in rust... products are non corrosive non acidic so won't damage gaskets and seals.

I used either Boeing T9 or Corrosion-X. Both leave a film behind once the carrier evaporates - good for corrosion prevention, bad if you want your engine spotless and shiny.

On an additional note, my mechanic told me to only use it (silicone spay) on parts that need it (e.g. not parts like where engine paint is still in good condition), otherwise it will attract dust like the dickens and make you very unhappy.

A pilot friend that is a boater suggested LPS3. I have been using a silicone spray intended for use on jet ski engines made by Honda. I picked it up locally from a dealership am pleased with it so far.

TOP-KOTE Finishing Spray
TOP-KOTE Finishing Spray by liquid performance. Best stuff ever made. I use it for everything. Very lite so it doesn't build up like wd-40.

When I take my Jet Ski to the salt water, i spray the engine down with Corrosion X.
