Oil Bath Bearing Seal
Has anyone replaced the oil bath wheel bearing seal or where do you buy one? Its for a 2006 Mastercraft Trailer.

Should be available from your local dealer or any auto parts store. The number on the seal will allow the auto parts store to cross reference. Make sure to tell them it is an oil seal as they are different from a grease seal.

Yes. I had to buy them from a dealer. At the time, oil bath bearings where rare and the local auto parts stores could not cross reference them. That was a few years ago though, so hopefully from a convenience factor they are now able to be cross referenced.

Went by Dealer today and he told me that the 06 came with a Plastic cap with the see thru glass so it usually cracks before the seal blows out when it gets hot and that is hopefully what happened in my case, He sold me the aluminum caps for them now so they are a lot better than the plastic caps that were used in the 06 and earlier trailers

My mastercraft trailer has UFP components. The oil bath bearing system is manufactured by UFP under the name Trailer Buddy. I believe the system that mastercraft used on my trailer (2002 year) is the GOLD system, not the VAULT. I like the window, it makes it easy to fill the oil and check the level. Here's where you can buy the caps and other parts. I had to order a new brake disc, and got a better deal calling them.

also some information on UFP:

Oil Bath Bearings
I installed the Kodiak SS disc brake system on my EZ loader tandem trailer with Pro lube oil bath system. One of the (blue) plastic caps separated where the cap meets the threads. I've read where some have replaced their plastic caps with metal ones with a window. Mine are 1.980". Where might I find the metal caps please. Appreciate any help I can get.

This is a site that has the reliable brand oil bath caps, might have what you need

MAGNUM- I had the same issue with my 06 trailer and I called reliable and they sent me the aluminum caps free (great customer service) replaced them several years ago and no problems since (knock on wood)

I have replaced my caps but I stripped one of the fill hole caps. Since I think they are copper I tried to go to the hardware store to get a new one. Wrong. All I could find was a 10MM fine threaded copper cap in the air compressor area but it is a little too long and I cannot put the dust cover on with the wheel. Does anybody know where I could find the correct threaded cap for this filler whole?
