surlast boat covers

I have the original cover from mc that is made of surlast I believe. can you put 303 cover protectant on it to help keep water from getting inside?

this will be my first year of not having my baby in a covered storage and finally going to a covered slip on a hydrohoist.

Some say it works but mine didn't. In anything except a mild rain my boat would be soaked. I treated my cover two years in a row without an improvement. I loved the way that cover fit but it left marks on the seats and wasn't much of a cover when it came to rain. I ended up replacing it with a cover from skiboatcovers.com and haven't had water problems since.

In the end it was a great dust cover and not much more, at least that was my experience.

thank you for your input! i plan on getting a cover from covercraft with side skirts that covers the platform in a few months.

My boat has to live outside in the desert heat and the cover from skiboatcovers is awesome. Covers the ski platform and the chimes cover the sides and the trailer fenders. Now if I can just keep the feral cats out....

Applied directly to the cats?

Seriously? I will cut you slack looking at your stats :D

Most common Anti-freeze in the US contains Ethylene glycol, which tastes very sweet when first consumed, then the metallic taste kicks in....too late.

It is poisonous to most animals, causing death due to kidney and other organ failure. Great for strays or small rodents ;)

I have the standard black Mastercraft ratcheting cover that is probably the Surlast material you mentioned. Last week I cleaned it good with the 303 cleaner and then treated it according to the directions with the 303 Fabric Guard/Water Repellent. We had rain showers all week and the water just beaded up and ran off the cover. Boat was totally dry inside. I do have my cover drum tight and well "tented" though.
