1986 grey on grey rainbow resto

Hi all, newbie here with a restoration project of a 1986 grey on grey power slot that I have had since new in '86. This is actually a family boat that my sister and brother have had for the last ten years and hasn't being properly winterized or even used at all and is in BAD shape. I'm not completely sure what I'm doing but I do have a motorhead helping me with the engine. Any help with where to get parts or any other input would be great! I will try to figure out how to post pics. Thanks, Scot.

Welcome to Team Talk. Great to see someone bring a classic back to life. You will find a wealth of knowledge here. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. With winter still keeping it's grips on a lot of the country, you will have a large audience. Lots of pictures keeps us going.
Where in the Midwest are you?

Welcome! Not often someone has their original boat from 86'. The cool part about it you know all the history. No mysteries. Goos luck can't wait to see the progress. Are you hoping to have it on the water this summer?

yes I am, if the time and money allows!

occva 03-15-2013 07:47 PM will be helpful for engine and steering parts. Nice to see another 86.

That boat will be beautiful when it comes back to life. And you have the satifaction of knowing it is worth at least half of what you put in to it! (LOL just kidding) Good luck. I'll bet you have some old memories you are itching to relive!
While you are getting the motor done, crate and freight your interior to Jim at Viper Custom Upholstry. By the time you get the hull ready, he will have your seats back to you and you will be ready to go. When does boating season start in Wisconsin? June?

Exterior looks like it will buff out beautifully. My 85 looked similar when I started..
