Best prop for mastercraft prostar 190 lt1 with 1.5-1
Hi- I recently bought a mastercraft prostar 190 1997 with lt1. It had a 13x13 prop with a top speed of 32mph at 5500rpm.
I believe the transmission is 1.5-1. I want an all round prop for slalom, barefoot and wake boarding. Any help appreciated? Matt |

Also mike your shaft before you call. I know the earlier powerslots like mine have a bigger shaft (1 1/8th instead of 1 inch). It'd be nice to know that everything forward of the prop is powerslot spec on your boat before you try to order a correct prop for it.

Definitely need to confirm transmission ratio and also a gps confirmed speed first. Have fun.

That is a good point about GPS confirmation. Are you going off of the boat speedo? I wouldn't think that the speedo would be off by 12-13mph, but anything is possible and a less expensive fix if that is the case.

Thanks to all for replies. Shaft is 1"1"8 and have verified with my gps that speed is correct.
5500rpm is 32mph top speed. Gearbox is 1.5-1. What sort of top speed will I expect out of 14x18 prop James? Will it still give me plenty of power take off? Cheers matt |
I am running a 14*17.5 ACME but don't ask the number. same ratio trans as yours. Standard 14*18 was similar although didn't perform quite so well in all areas. Better speak to a prop expert, someone has wrongly propped that boat by a mile! I have been tempted to talk to ACME about gearing. Mine is doing pretty close to 3900revs at 36mph which is a tad underpropped for my liking and use. I would personally prefer 3600revs at 36mph. Top speed is a measley 43/44mph with the LTR330 indmar. Have fun.

Something still isn't right about those specs...
But if they are... Can you imagine the take-off being that badly under propped? Would literally rip your arms out of their sockets |
The numbers sound right with a 13 X 13 on a PowerSlot trans. I would suggest trying our 13.7 X 17.5 LC 1 1/8" XMP 4-blade.
