Bow pad
I have seen some boats on the site with a filler cushion which turns the bow into more of a lounge area/sun deck.
Was this a factory option or are they custom fit? If so what is used for the base (glassed in wood?)? My boat is a 2000 205 prostar. Thanks |
For a lot of boat models it is/was an option. Many have had them custom made also.

I had one made last year. I bought a piece of 1/2" starboard and cut it to fit for the support. I made a cardboard template and took it to a local vinyl shop and had them make the cushion. I think they charged me $100 or so.

I did some more research and saw a few made with sub woofers installed. They look like they would work well, however not very practical for quick removal. Not sure what material for the structural support was.
Would a high density plastic work? Just looked at the cost of starboard and its pricey. |
This is what you are looking for about the sub
http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/m...tml?1164116905 as far as the bow filler starboard is the best but believe you could use thick ply that is epoxied. The epoxy=$$$ though |
I did find this thread but no pictures. Thanks for the link. I like the concept and design. May try to have something like this built with a few ideas of my own.
Thanks again |
I've seen a few people use custom sized subwoofer boxes as the support for the cushion.
Starboard shouldn't be all that high. I ordered about a year ago, and I paid $65 shipped for the sheet of 1/2" starboard I used for the bow filler cushion support. I think you would be fine with 3/8" starboard if you wanted to save a little money. I ordered from Leon at Plastek Profiles 717-593-9200. |
