boat lift with v-drive

will a v-drive fit on a normal boat lift . the place I am looking to rent has the square tank style lift with bunks.

If the bunks aren't pretty high above the tanks, you might drag your prop and rudder off on the frame of the lift. It just depends on how the lift is set up.

that was my concern - I will try to post a pic of the lift

What Table Rocker said. This looks more like a pontoon boat lift. It looks like it has low bunks and they look to be pretty close together, making it hard to line up just right where your prop is between the bunks. I would not even risk it. Also, you do not know what the capacity of that lift is. How long will you be renting the place?

we rent for one week

no way would i put my MC on that lift. that lift looks identical to what i have my pontoon on. my pontoon has standard outer logs with lifting strakes and a larger center log for performance. thats the way that lift is setup. there is no way an inboard will work on that.

thanks guys, I gues the only other option would be to drop the lift and leave it down for the week

On most lifts the bunks are adjustable. Might be worth a try to adjust or modify it.

We rented a house on Lake Austin a couple of summers ago. . It had a lift that we used for almost week. I don't think it was ideal, but with a lot of attention to where the intakes/speedo wheel, and underwater gear were, and how far forward the boat was, it worked for the short time we were there. I wouln't have used it for more that the 4 days we were there though.
