wtb 1998-2001 prostar 205 ,x7,x9
 

hey guys im new to this site and ive been looking for a 205 or something similar with an open bow.I would like to stay around the 99-01 range with a tower.It would be a river boat not a lake boat.Any help would be great.Thanks

Go for the 205. The 197 was not the boat it is today in 2001 unless you are a barefooter. And the 209 was not really better at slalom or wakeboarding.

The 2nd generation 205 (1996--2000) is about as well as MC ever did at a perfect crossover boat.

Thanks for the tip, the problem is finding a 205 this time of year ,there are a few out there,but I'm lookin for a cherry,low hour boat.I do like the x9 but a 01 model still runs around 25k.

What do do you prefer to do, ski or wakeboard?

I wanna do both,more importantly my kids want to learn both also,we live on the rock river and there's not a lot wakeboarding,but I would like to try to bring something new to the area instead of just skiing all the time

Not much in the midwest, I just bought mine in CA and will ship/drive it back this spring. Much better options when you look elsewhere.

Nice,i found an 02 x7 in tennessee,that would be nice to buy now then pick it up in the spring,did you pay for it in full now?what kinda money you lookin at for shipping?I don't know a whole lot about the x7, om hopin it will be fine for us. We are all rookies at everything ski, wake board.Thanks!

It will just fine for you. Less room than the 205 though. It's more of a slalom specific boat with a wakeboard package. The 02 though still has less hook than the current 197. But it still skis just fine. It just performs a little funky in the slalom course. But as newbies you won't even notice. TypicaL shipping should be about $1-$1.50 a mile.

I paid full now, it's sitting in a climate controlled storage unit till I'm ready to bring it back. Shipping depends on distance & method (pull on trailer, place on flatbed, etc) but for my 2000 miles should be right around 1500 - 1800 from first looks.

I found a 205V a couple years back by expanding my search to include surrounding states - was looking for an X1- expand your craigslist search - it is not big deal these days to get a boat shipped or go see it, if it is THE boat you want.
