PS 197 - 2012 Graphics on a 2005??
 

Hi there,

So here is what I am thinking. I have a 2005 PS 197 and I would like to remove the existing graphics, acid wash the whole hull, wax etc, then replace the graphics with the 2012 graphics.

Any issues I should think about I do this?

You don'y want to apply the new graphics over wax. Put them on the cleaned hull and wax a couple days after the graphics are on and set. Getting the graphics from the guys at Midwest Mastercraft?

Are talking about the chrome or just the larger decals....

I was already thinking that would be the way to go. I am sure the wax would affect the adhesion factor a bit with the decals.

Not sure where I will get the decals. I will likely start with my local dealer. I live just north of Madison, WI and have worked with Redline Watersports for the last decade.

I am leaning towards the Chrome but I haven't decided yet.

Side question - how would a stainless steel rubrail look with the Chromax decals?

It might look good, but I know a lot of people with stainless rubrails who wish they had what you have.

I have an appointment at a local shop to do the same thing, but I just cannot decide on what graphics to do, which is making me think maybe I should leave the original graphics on it.

Which design were you planning on going with?

Looking to do the same to our 197 at Redline. Just a little hesitate of the outcome so if you do decide to upgrade post some pics!!!

I like keeping it stock. Just sayin..
