New truck, invoice pricing?

Just wondering what is the best deal I can expect to get on a new F150 pickup?
My local dealer said he would sell it to me for invoice, but can I do better?
(BTW, he showed me the invoice price, which I'm sure I can find myself somewhere also)

It would be an ordered 2013 model.

Crew cab? What trim level?

Edmunds.com will show you invoice pricing, generally it doesn't include freight which the dealer can't do much about. It will also show incentives and rebates. Dealers also have a holdback that can usually be brought into negotiations... it's usually a few hundred bucks.

Pick your trim... this is for 2012 though.

Supercrew, eco-boost, either Platinum or Limited. 3.73 rear, loaded.
I like the new grill and HID headlights on the 2013's.

Have not had a Ford since my '88 Dually but these new ones are real nice.

Anyone ever compare the 5.0 V-8 to the Eco-boost for towing? MPG?

What a scam that is.....freight  When was the last time you went to Wal-Mart, saw the price of an item and went to pay for it only to be told they will have to add $5 onto the price due to freight???? Guess what dealers....if you don't bring the cars to your dealership...you wouldn't have a dealership!

And....don't get me going on the "documentation fee"! Just another way for the dealers to squeeze even more money out of your wallet.

Sorry, thread jack is over...just had to rant.....carry on! :D

Check the F150 forums for an economy comparo, read through it. I have been looking at a new FX4 or Lariet. I am sold on the Ecoboost. In theory, it gets better mileage. For sure, it has more torque at a lower RPM.

13 has a new dash also.

On those 2 lines, you should expect $10K off of sticker at a minimum. A local dealer advertises 10K off depending on trim.

Keep in mind that Ford (parent corporation) has 3% holdback on on all sales. Or in other words, the dealer could indeed sell you the truck for invoice. Subsequent to the sale, Ford is going to reimburse the dealer 3% of the total sale. Therefore, don't feel too bad for the dealer and make sure you toss this nugget out during your negotiations.

I have a 2005 F-150 and love it. I'm a big Ford guy and we are going to probably trade my wife's Expedition in on a new Explorer in the next month or so. Oh, the joys of car shopping...

I recently ordered, April of this year a 2012 Ford F150 FX4. I paid invoice and still got all the rebates available to me on top of that. I think I ended up getting $4000 in rebates so I basically paid $4000 below invoice when said and done.

I pulled my boat with a friends new f150 with the Eco-boost and I was very impressed. Had plenty of power and for the short drive the instant MPG was around 16-17. I was babying it a little as it wasn't my vehicle.

C'MON Man (Dave)... Stay with Chevy!! OK, does the ecoboost really get that much better gas mileage than a chevy v8, is it enough to change brands? I have had four Silverados and love them but the Fords do look nice, especially the old one sitting my 93 hull!

Towing, the Eco is a little better. At high altitude I'm sure the Eco will dust the 5.0 though.
Mileage, about the same between my 5.0 and guy at work's Eco. His is 4x4 crew cab Eco, mine 2wd Ext cab 5.0 with enough tools in the back that it weighs as much or more than his.
We both avg 18-18.5 commuting mostly highway.
The 5.0 tows great. Best engine/trans combo I've ever driven for a gasser. I have yet to pull anything with GM's new 6speed auto/6.2 or teh newest 5.7 Hemi's (6speed now too?).
It pulls better than any of the big 5 (incl Nippon and Yota) of a few years ago. I avg about 13mpg pulling a 8 to 14klb trailer with the 5.0.
