1995 maristar 200VRS transmission 1:1 or 1:1.5
I have a 95 maristar 200 VRS. I've been told by wakeprops that all mastercrafts with 1 1/8 shafts have the 1:1.5 powerslot transmission. However the sticker on my transmission clearly shows the Hurth HSW D is 1:1. Now the manual is also showing me the 1:1.5 maristars come with a 14x18 stock prop. Just so happens that my boat does have a 14x18 prop.
Does anybody know if it's a 1:1 or 1:1.5 transmission? |
Stickers don't lie, do they? however all your info indicates a 1.5:1, what size is your prop shaft? maybe a call to indmar or hurth is in order.

I have the same boat, 14X18 prop, 1 1/8 shaft. If I remember correctly, the actual transmission is 1:1 but the V-drive gear box is 1.5:1
Of course I've been wrong once or twice in my life. |
my shaft is 1 1/8". that would make sense that the gear reduction would be in the v-drive. thanks for your help.

I changed my V-drive oil this weekend, and just to confirm, the tag on my V-drive box said:
Ratio.....1.46/1 The transmission is 1:1 and the reduction IS in the V-drive. |
ahhudgines: You use SAE30 in the v drive? What about the tranny, 15W40 or Dextron III?
Thanks for your help. |

My manual calls for Dextron ATF in the transmission. |
