Draining LT-1 block
Longtime self-winterizer (PCM 351) first time LT-1 winterizer. I am a run the engine till it's warm with water then run in anti-freeze until it comes out un-diluted in the exhaust. I then remove the two (2) manifold plugs and two (2) block plugs (one is knock sensor), and remove impeller cover to drain out and recapture all antifreeze from the system. This method has always worked great for the long cold winters in Minnesota with my previous PCM 351 motor and leaves the motor dry with the exception of any low spot or residual. My question is; has this method worked on the LT-1 motor I now have or with the more complex two thermostat design and Indmar cooling am I missing an area that will still contain water??? I recaptured 4.75gals of the 5.0 gals of the antifreeze, minus the usual "over the bucket" waste, I am confident I have reclaimed all of the antifreeze from the engine. I pulled off the small hoses that lead to the front of the manifolds and they were dry, as was the hoses on the front of the motor. Am I missing anything? Thanks

That's pretty much what I do. Mine has a heater and a shower so I also blow out those lines.

Don't forget to drain your transmission cooler log. There is a small plug on the bottom.
