Better skiing wake behind 2002 x30?

New to the MC family. Just bought 2002 x-30 -- and love it! Obviously a great wakeboarding boat but am wondering if anyone has been sucessful in dialing in the wake for slalom skiing? The old foggies among us still like to ski! I've played a little with filling the middle ballast, but doesn't seem to do much. Called OJ's to look into a new prop but was told that the original prop size (which I have on) was the best for my boat. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Install an attitude adjustment plate (wakeplate) to flatten the wake a bit. Rather than filling the KGB ballast, put your observer on the port side in the bow....

Pretty smooth with a 100' rope too.

Thanks. I haven't looked into the wakeplate. I'll explore that option. I'll look for a thread on that on this board.

Thanks as well. If I have my rope out all the way, it does put me well behind the rough part of the wake. But I'm actually trying to shorten my rope now. I currently have it tied off so that the skier is right behind the foamy bit of the wake, but we'd like to go shorter.

I think there has been some discussion about wake plates. Particularly the Scarpa plate. I know Overton's was selling a single hydrolic trim tab for ski boats. Supposed to let you adjust the attitude of the boat. Not too many people were fans. X-30 is a big tug boat for skiing. Not gonna be much you can do to be honest.

Thanks. That's what I figured but thought this was the best place to get any ideas. Wakeplate looks to be fairly expensive, so I would want to be sure I would see an improvement before installing. But, yes, the options do seem limited.

You might get quite a bit of relief from a wake plate. There is a Moomba at our lake, a 23 foot V drive boat (which I think the X-30 is also) -- and that family says the wake plate makes a big difference for their slalom folks.

Also, the plate is reportedly a big help on the X-14V and the X-2 Mastercrafts as well.
