My 5 year olds first wakeboard of the year

Just thought I'd post a vid of my 5 year old going for his first wakeboard of the year. He got up all by himself with no help and went for a pretty long run. If you can tell by his smiles he loved every minute if it! Best summer ever!

Sweet! My kids have all tried (at their own choosing) at age 5 but all on the boom. That's impressive to go long-line at 5.

That wake would have scared me at 5. I'm glad I got to learn on a tiny wake ;)
Though I'm planning to have a much bigger wake for my youngest by the time she's 5 though.

Speed?

Awesome!

My 6 yr old daughter is right around 15 mph. I keep my bow bag half full to keep the nose down. My 8 yr old daughter is right around 17.5 mph and she has started to try little hops off the wake. The both are on a 65ft line.

That is just great! I am all choked up and it's not even my kid. Good times...

Thanks so much for all the comments. As a dad, I have been looking forward to this for a long time. But to see him actually get up and ride for the first time was a true highlight for me. I don't know who was more proud, him or me.

My son was on a boat from the time he was a week old and has been wanting to do it on his own for a while but to seeing him do it all on his own and do it with a smile was just the best.

I am thankful every day that I purchased an old boat 7 years ago and got addicted to the lake lifestyle. i feel blessed that I get to share these times with my family and I know my kids will remember them for the rest of their lives.
