Sorry, bad wording. I would buy another TowerBiminis.com bimini, although It would still hurt me to spend that amount of $$$ on it. I wouldn't buy a different type of bimini (e.g. gunwale mounted, universal tower mounted or over the top), at least not for my application.

Here's what it looks like:

Jeff d...that bimini looks huge. Appears it comes over windshield quite a ways. Curious...what is it like taking the boards off the racks with bimini extended?

Jeff d 03-12-2012 11:41 PM

It doesn't really interfere with getting boards off the racks.

Any bimini that is integrated into the tower is a little more difficult to use than a freestanding gunwale mount bimini, so take it with a grain of salt. Tower bikini's uses Sunbrella and stainless tubing... which is one of the reasons I would pay to upgrade to the stainless connectors. Lastly, the fabric towerbiminis use is higher quality than the Surlast fabric that OEM MasterCraft uses. All in all, the only reason I would go elsewhere is that I personally have local shops that can do just as good of a job as them. However, if you are in a location that does not have the local talent, towerbiminis is your huckleberry.

anyone have any thoughts on the aluminum frame vs the stainless frame? although its more expensive its only $45... just trying to justify it. with shipping im looking at almost $1000 for this thing..

The price for a towerbimini.com unit is a deterrent for me as well. I'll probably end up getting one, though. I like the look, and the only other option I've found is this: http://www.bigairwaketowers.com/bimini/bigairbimini/, which IMO looks just as nice as the tower bimini, but doesn't look like it would fold up well at all, which is a must for me since I have to fold down the tower to store it in my garage.

$45 for stainless thats a no brainer
