Upgrading 04 xstar interior speakers and need help!

What are my options for high quality interior speakers? Currently have the clarion component sets so I would have to replace with a component set or possibly plug the tweeter holes and run a coaxial. Really wanted to upgrade to the Jl 7.7's but I don't think I could fit it in the pod next to the drivers seat. The amp I'm running is a MHD 900/5 if that helps. Thanks for any advice.

Might as well put one in here for the 6.5 jl's!

Are the wetsounds sold as coaxials or components? What would I do with the open holes for the tweeters if i ran a coaxial? Thanks!

WS are coax. They are also a large basket so be prepared for slight hole enlargement. Easy with a jig saw or rotary tool and very worth the extra sound.

First thought is just leave tweets as a hole filler. Too bad clarion was so proud of their name they had to use that large tear drop bezel. Don't have any idea how the vinyl will look underneath or be permanently indented in that portion if you were to remove it.

Second, if they are not blown and you are looking for more highs, you might be able to just use the tweets with a single external crossover or small amp, high passed. This would get a little tricky so there is no point in discussing if it is not an option.

I am going to have the same problem when I upgrade my 04 Xstar in the coming years. I was thinking about having something cut from aluminum or steel and have them powder coated red to match the boat. Then having them affixed in the hole the tweeters leave some how. If you want to pioneer the project I wont mind!
