well i love my X14. It does not surf. I'm not a surfer so it doesn't bother me. We didn't try very hard ... just the factory ballast and a few people in the back and the wake was just not there. Funny i could on my '04 X9 though. Yes the observer seat goes all the way forward. We always have a kneeboard in there, and this weekend had 3 slalom skis. I added the slot tranny to the MCX ... think it gives it better power. Add the heater for sure. Also, in case you barefoot, Barefoot Intl nows makes a boom to fit the X14 ... taught my two kids and a niece how to slalom this weekend. Give me a call if you want to talk 513-607-0554
Hey 2Rlake, still haven't run into you at norris yet. I have been going to melton hill the last several weeks (closer to home).
I am looking real seriously at a new '08 x-14 w/mcx. coming from a ps205, I think I will be wel pleased, but have a couple of questions.
Can you surf behind the x-14 with factory ballast? I have read through the thread on it, but can't get any first hand knowledge.
Regarding storage, does the observers seat storage go all the way under the port bow seat? Is there enough room for a ski? what about a knee board?
Anything else I need to watch out for of look for that you can think of? I think with the racks, and the storage under the seat behind the drivers seat, I will be o.k.

2Rlake - Heading to Norris on 7/25 till 8/1, staying on Wolf Hollow just across Big Creek from you, we should hook up with Owen for some cocktails! Also, RE: the Ohio, where did you used to put in? I have tried Riverside, Schmidt & Indiana (Lawerenceburg) never found any decent water. The licking is good, just a bit narrow and have to really be on your toe's due to stumps etc.
