Kaboom

I have read a lot lately and team talk seems to be a good place for a ton of advice! I grew up sking and an occasional barefoot session, seems like years ago...early 80's. Fast forward, now my kids have the wake board going on, and I have actually surfed a few times last year behind a supra and a x-9. It's time... I am looking to get into the MC owner club.

To stay in my $15K budget, it seems like a PS 190 in the 1997 range is about the best I have found. I understand that this model is an exceptional ski boat how is it for wakeboarding? Can a wake be created that will meet the recreational wakeboarder needs as my kids grow with aftermarket fat sac's? My buddy has an older MC and he gets nervous when trying to surf behind his because he has to add so much weight that the freeboard get's really skinny, would this be the case with the PS 190?

Looking for any recommendations on a model that should fit the need for my kids and one that I can possibly get the old ski out on and then adjust for surfing and stay in budget. Seems like a 2002 X-star would be best but they are out of my budget, would like to get your thoughts.
