Does any one have any advice on cleaning and draining the fuel tank on an 88 prostar 190? The boat was handed down to me from a family member and has been sitting for over 2 years. Initially, the fuel tank was almost empty (unsure of exact amount), approximately ten gallons of fresh gas was then added. The boat starts and runs great on the fake-a-lake in the driveway. However, when I take the boat to the ramp (approx. 1.25 miles) the boat refuses to run more than 10 minutes. When the fuel separator is drained there is definitely water present. I have also cleaned the additional fuel filter that leads to the carburetor. Once the filters were drained and cleaned the boat runs fine. Can anyone provide some feed back on how I should proceed? Is there an additive that can be added to aid in the removal of any remaining moisture? The boat is equipped with a stock 351W, Holley carb, and no EI.
