I am looking to purchase and restore 78 SS. I read that MC increased from 4 to 9 color combinations in the early 80s and I am trying to determine what the original colors were. I was you have an awesome looking 79. Is the red the original color? Also, I noticed you had black pinstripes. Were these original also.? The one I am purchasing has a teal color that I am almost postive is a repaint. I am going to have to re-gelcoat my boat eventually and I want to try to keep the colors as authenic as possible.
Well I called the one marina I know right next to our place at Blue Creek, but they don’t have a public launch, but he recommended this one off “Paces Point Ramp-Off Hwy. 34(Real Ridge Rd.)” He said he thought there were lots of signs giving the directions to the public ramp.
1. Coming from Auburn, continue North on Hwy 49 until you reach Hwy 34. (I think it is a red light or a blinking light, a gas station, strip mall, etc at this road).
2. LEFT/West onto Hwy 34. This takes you towards the Still Waters resort community.
3. Go for 6.3 miles on Hwy 34.
4. Be looking for Paces Trail Rd on the left. Ramp Road will be the next road on the left
5. LEFT onto Ramp Road.
glad to hear that nothing else went wrong. i have no lights on mine as well. we must have just pulled out ahead of you. we will have to try and make it up your way sometime soon. it was really great meeting all of you.
