Hello Eric, Need help please. I just purchased a 2001 MC Prostar 190 with a damaged prop and wish to buy a new one. Haven't run the boat except for brief test drive due to the vibration, so I don't have RPM info. Boat has power slot 1.5:1, 1-1/8" keyed shaft, MTR 330 HP engine. Current prop is not the original, it's an 13.7 x 17V HC OJ. I'm just getting back into slalom at age 51, and I'm out of shape so it will be "light" slalom. Really lost after researching this topic and the local pro is busy with Memorial Day customers. Thanks for your help. Bruce

    Hi Eric,
I have a 97 Prostar 205 with an LT-1 engine and 1:1 transmission and 725 hours on the clock. It runs very well with great low down torque and tops out at 45mph at 4500 rpm with 7 adults in the boat. The current prop is an OJ Legend 4 blade 13x13 on a 1" shaft. We typically pull kneeboards (18mph/2000rpm), Wakeboards (18-20mph) and slalom at 30mph/3000rpm. I'm not wanting to barefoot.

I'm looking to keep a spare prop handy. I was thinking of ordering the same spec prop as a spare as the old one seems perfect.

Do you have any suggestions? Should I stick with Legend or go CNC?

    Hey Eric,
I have a 2006 x star with MCX and am currently running the OJ 14.25X14.50. I run around 2500-3000k ballast plus people. The prop does ok but was wondering if there's something with a little better hole shot that wont take my rpms up much more. Thanks

    Hey Eric,
I have a 2005 x45 with the 8.1L and looking for suggestion on a new prop. We wakeboard and surf. We run up to 3000# of ballast. The existing prop that was on it when I bought it was an oj 14.5x22. Running that much weight she works to get up on plan. Looking for a better out of the hole prop. Any suggestions?

Hey Eric, heard you were the guy who knows props.
I'm looking at alternatives to my stock 4-blade prop that has a few blemishes. I have a 2005 Prostar 197 Tournament Team wit the Indmar MCX and 1.26:1 transmission. Slalom approximately 80% and barefoot the other 20%. Have plenty of hole shot now, but would like a bit more top end. What's your recommendation? Thanks for your time.
