Have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-966jH1__8 which has a good explaination about how to get the pop you are looking for to get to the other wake. Watching your video you are absorbing the wake rather than holding the edge up and over it.

Also, to me it looks like your riding position is off contributing to the uncomfortable feeling. I'd say your hips are a little behind and out from where they should be. As they say, hip to the handle not the handle to the hip. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=if-o677aPuU.

You can also find these by searching "wakeboarding instructions Matt Crowhurst" at youtube.com.

I found it helpful to start standing beside the wake, take a short swing out and come back in on edge and standing firm against the wake. As you get it down, increase the distance you swing out but only as much as you are still willing to correctly launch off the wake.

There is a good instructional video called "The Book". I highly recommend it as takes you from the basics to advance, had good advise on practice drills. You can load on your iPod and review while you are on the boat.

OK-I'm back after a couple more weekends of practice on my wakeboard. Two things I'm really struggling with and end up exhausted before I've executed them correctly: 1st, I can NOT get comfortable on my toeside edge. My board wants to porposide on me if the water has any turbulence to it at all and makes me uncomfortable and hightail it back over to my heelside. 2nd-my timing at the wake for my heelside jumps is NOT right. I can not clear the wake and I end up back in the boat with my upperbody strength gone. I usually pull about 20 minutes/per session twice/day on the weekends. Below is a short youtube video of me trying to jump the wake. I don't like where my hips are on my toeside edge and can't figure out why they are poked out behind me. I feel like I'm going to fall over on my face sometimes if I edge onto my toe anymore than I do.

Any suggestions welcomed! I want to do this!!!!

    Thanks, Lisa
