I believe mine was the PerTronix Interceptor and if I remember right it came with everything needed to do the conversion. Should run you between $85-$120 depending if it's the Interceptor or Interceptor II. Not sure what the difference is. You can order one here: http://www.skidim.com/searchprods.asp or call them and they'll be able to tell you exactly what you need. Those guys are reall good.
I understand getting the family out. I don't have kids, but I remember when I was a kid bugging the heck out of my dad to get the boat in the water. I work for Manheim at the corporate office in Nashville. The quality stuff I do deals with data that condition report writers at our auctions enter into the system. If you need help with anything let me know. Redoing the engine, I do have one suggestion... go with electronic ignition. You'll love it.
I am going to replace the carpet, but the trailer is new. The floor and the stringers are in good shape from what i can tell so far. The biggest thing i have to do is get the new engine in for now and then worry about the cosmetic things once the mechanical issues are finished. My kids are really wanting to get on the lake.
I see that you work in Quality.... what do you do? I manage the quality for my company's North American division. Murfreesboro is not too far.
Wow, the exterior of that looks like it's in really good condition. The carpet looks a lot better than mine. How are the floor and stringers? You're trailer is in a lot better shape than mine too. My name's Mike by the way and I live in Murfreesboro, TN.
Hello. Seems we have a similar project going on! I am in Dayton Tn. Where are you in TN? I have an photo album started on my 1981 Stars and Stripes restore if you want to take a peek. By the way, mine has an aluminum gas tank....
