We're off and I've taken the rest of the week as well since it will only cost me 20 hours of PTO. From the beginning of June until mid August we work half days on Fridays if we're able to.

A company here in town works 9 9's which equates to every other Friday off.

You watchin' the stock market or did that blob of thunderstorms down by the Yucatan just form into the second named storm of the hurricane season?

Either way, I share this sentiment:

I have given in and given my 56 favorite ***holes the day off. But I am not paying them for it. They just get paid for the 4th and must take vacation or no-pay for the 3rd.

Me? I'll be kite tubing behind my Malibu ;)

Office is open, but computer systems, email, and internet will be down for upgrades.
Doesn't make a lot of sense.
What will we be able to do? Read waterski mag.
Most have taken a vacation day.
I think I'll come in for morning donuts and coffee.

What's the point of coming in if you don't have internet/TeamTalk. If I do work at all any of next week, it will top some of the least productive days I've ever had.

Had to work  !! The military gets the day off but because of all these civilian government employees they couldn't give us the day off today where I'm at. So, instead of a nice 4 day weekend at home with my family. I had to come back and work today and have the day off tomorrow to mope around.

as Brian said it's a "family" day for some of us blue-suiters

we tooled out to the river for awhile and put in right as Mickey was pulling in to rig his boat.

stopped and talked for awhile at the sand bar, good folks! sweet ride too!

kids wakeboarded and kneeboarded and I took a spin on the slalom then the skies were getting cloudy so we hauled but to the ramp to beat the crowd and got out of dodge!
