With the wife's new job we have to cut short the lease on the Murano and without getting into too many details the best financial decision is to roll the lease into a new Titan and sell my truck or pay upwards of 7k to drop off the Murano and throw them the keys. So if anyone has a Titan I would love input.

A co-worker has a Titan. His only complaint was the brakes, but they had a recall and have replaced the rotors so all is fine.

My first Google search had this at the top: http://automobiles.honda.com/shopping/landing.aspx?ModelName=ridgeline

The titan looks like a great truck, but as an outside viewer with no experience Nissan has had high highs and low lows recently. Mostly the 4x4 as low lows.

My brother has one.

Low - brakes, but they did a recall as stated but we got new rotors and had them cryogentically treated and used Hawk pad to fix that

Tranny - had a temp light or something come on as he would tow his boat uphill to his lake house - faulty sender

Other than that, it will haul A$$, nice ride, fairly quiet if you keep the air pressure in the tires at factory level, plenty of room in 4 door model and will tow his 6000 lb Cobalt with no problem

I have a titan and absolutely love it. it's an 04 and had the brake recall, they even extended the warrenty on the brakes in case anything happens with them again. i believe that the 05's had the problem fixed from the factory. take one for a test drive and see what you think, thats how we eventually decided on the titan

I love the Titan. Ours had to have the brake thing replaced. Only problem is it gets about 10 mpg.

Well I looked at a few before I purchased my current truck last Sept. Thought they were great and was aware of the brake issue at the time. Only problem was I didnt feel like it was the right truck to be bouncing around construction sites with. That job is done and now I really have no choice but to go with Nissan and pay (out the Arse) for signing a lease in January and 6 months later the situation completely changes. But at least I will only have one car payment, albeit much higher than I like, takes away from the "newer" boat fund.

10 mpg!!!! how fast do you drive? and is that all city? i can get like 19 on the highway and i beieve the worst i've ever gotten in the city was about 14, never been down to 10. even when towing the boat i get about 17 highway, 15 if i'm pushing it. my highway speeds are never above 70 though and i have a bed cover.

I think Wakebroad has the 4x4 with off road package. Which never helps the MPG issue

Consider yourself lucky if you are really getting 19 and 17 towing. I have several friends that have Titans....4WD's-2WD's-Armadas etc. They all love them but all have had brake problems and complain of poor fuel economy. Most state that they average 10-15mpg. The 4WD Armada is the worst at a consistant 10-12mpg. We took it on a trip to California and the best we got on the highway was 13mpg. My wife and I were looking to get an Armada for the family but poor mpg is what held us back. My buddy with the 2WD is getting 14-15mpg if he drives is it easy. With a heavy foot, 12-14mpg. The Titan is a powerful and fast truck (for a gasser) but it's extremely thirsty!

Makes me wonder what kind of mileage people are getting with similar trucks (e.g., F150, Silverado, Ram, Tacoma). Anybody? If the Titan is that bad, it's getting crossed off my list.

In my 2001 Expedition, I average about 15.6 mpg without anything attached to the hitch. I think the sticker says 13/18.

Friend has one and has had many brake problems, replaced brakes 3 times in first 50K, I think warranty covered it all.

Forgot to mention: I'm averaging about 15 in my '99 4WD Tahoe.

I am getting ballpark 11-13 MPG in my F150 CrewCab 4x4, I am running a bit larger BFG All Terrain. So the mileage really wouldnt be that far off. But that is with towing the boat about average 35-70 miles a week.

I just purchased a 07 Tahoe 4wd. I have been a little disappointed with the mpg. Town, avg 11 and hwy 16. Window sticker stated higher mpg.

Hoping after it gets broke in it will impove.

Pulls the boat great but avg 9mpg, mainly highway.

Traded in the Sequoia, seemed to struggle pulling the boat, but without it the Sequoia rode great.

My '06 GMC Sierra 2wd/4wd Extended Cab has averaged 16.8 mpg over the 3100 miles I've owned it so far, and that includes in-town, highway, towing the boat, towing the motorycycle trailer, towing the horse trailer (about 500 miles of towing). That's using regular fuel. It's flex-fuel (E85) capable, but I haven't put any E85 in it yet.

Non-towing highway mileage is about 20-21 mpg.

OOOuch!!!! I thought those new Tahoe's had a fuel management system that was supposed to make them get over 20mpg. The new Tahoe was up on the list...maybe crossed off now. How do you like it otherwise?

azhawk,

I was very impressed with it. I had test drove a 05 Denali and was a little disappointed with the ride and the amt of road noise that there was. The 07 is a serious improvement. Ride, handling , road noise.

Here is a photo of it. It's a little dirty.

Nope, Thankfully no Titan here.

One of my buddies has one, although I don't talk to him much anymore...

I forgot to mention that I had an '05 F150 Super Crew 2WD. Took it on one trip and got 17mpg on the highway. It had the taller gear ratio (3.55 vs. 3.73) which helps a little on mpg. City averaged 13-14 mpg range. Towed the X30 once then it died. :(

Liked the truck, just got a bad one I guess. That's ok though, 'cuz I now have the truck I should have purchased in the first place.

R.I.P.- '05 F150 Super Crew 2WD Lariat. Motor Failure.

04 Z71 Tahoe.... 13 or so around town... 14 or so highway, and around 10 I think towing in the fast lane....

My Buddy has a Titan and loves it. I think they have the best and roomiest interior of all vehicles.

I have an '05 LE CrewCab Titan. Brake issue fixed at the factory in '05 and I've had No issues at all. I've only got 7400 miles on it and had it since Oct. Pulls the 197 like a dream! Awesome motor! But like many have said. My best tank of gas is 14mpg. worst is 13 on the freeway 70mph. But I didn't buy a truck for fuel economy.(not sure how you can) Overall LOVE the truck. Lots of nice features. Extendable side mirrors. Rear back-up sensors. leather seats. Spray in bedliner from the factory. I have the tonneau cover from Truxedo. I would definately buy a Titan again over any other. I test drove every brand you can think of and after 3 weeks of reviews and research finally settled on the titan. Very glad I did.

Well the Jury has returned and my new Titan is in route to the dealer. Should be able to pickup Saturday or Monday.

2006 Nissan Titan SE CrewCab 4X4 Smoke Exterior-Steel Interior
w/Big Tow Package, Off-Road Package, and Rockford Fosgate Stereo. Gonna be jamming on the way to the lake! Thanks for the input. Not like I really had much of a choice in Brand though. Now where did I put that MC sticker I ordered....

Our Titan is a 4x4/off road. That might be why it gets 10mpg. It's worse when towing the boat and alot of that is city, not highway.

01 Expedition 4wd. 13.5 city, 15.5-16.5 highway. It has a 3.55 rear end which seems to help a little and my little SportStar doesn't bother it a bit.

I've had good luck with my 04 Armada. Dealer did the brake recall when I had it on for a few misc. warranty items. We've got 42k on it so far with virtually no issues. We get 16-17mpg on highway trips, 12.5 - 13mpg around town, 12mpg when pulling the boat.

Did you get your Titan sanjuan? How do you like it? Gas consumption as bad as they say here? We're starting to consider a new truck purchase here again -- looking at Titan or Silverado, maybe a Ram...

Had mine for a year and a half and have 52K miles on it and it drives like a champ. Dealer replaced the brakes and rotors, but hey it was a free brake job, so it actually worked out pretty good. It pulls almost as good as my S&S!!!
