Does anyone know where to get fixed or how to fix loose teke platform bolts that bolt the braket to the fiberglass transum, they wont tighten up yet seem as though they may be loose or striped? Any help is appreciated

i believe that there is a nut on the inside that is probably turning. It sucks to get to them, i had a similar problem and i had to pull the gas tank out to get to the nuts on the inside :(

you are going to have to take the brackets off pull the tank out cut in to the floor under the gas tank then drill two hole on each side where you already have hole, all the way though the boat and place backing plates with a nut on each mout. they way the boat is set up the bolt that go into the transom are just lag bolts wich mean there are no nuts inside the boat and it sound like they stripped out of there holes. that is the only way to fix it right. i had this happen to me last year its about a days worth of work if you have the tool

I read this when it first came on but didn't add on my experience till now. Several years ago the sister of a good friend thought you could use the platform as a diving board so from the top of the back of my boat she jumped onto the platform and I heard a crack. After inspecting it I found that the lag bolts into the transom had been striped out a little so I took a bracket for the platform to a machine shop and had them make two stainless steel plates about the same size as the mounting brackets where they fasten on to the boat. Drilled holes to match the brackets into the plates and got stainless steel bolts, nuts, and lockwashers. Had to drill out the holes a little applied a marine silicon caulk generously put the new plates on the inside and bolted on the brackets and have not had a problem since (knock on wood).
