Anybody have any experience with brands other than Bose. I have had the Bose QC1's and QC2's, each with there own pluses and minuses. My QC2s kind of crapped out so I'm looking for a new set and wonder if the others are any good. Also, this may be a stretch, but has anyone adapted the Bose Aviation X headsets for general listening. If so what adapter did you use and how do they sound? Music sounds good in the cockpit but then again that is not quite the ideal listening environment.

I have the planequiet headphones and really like them. Maybe not as good as Bose, but still excellent and were $40 on ebay. Looks like $50 now. Battery life is good 8-10 hours from 1 AAA battery.

They also work incredible in the van watching movies. I need to buy another pair for that!
