Airguide Speedos

Have any of you guys ever taken an Airguide Speedo apart to see how they work? I did it for the first time last night (as I just picked up 2 for a steal). I'm amazed that such fragile parts can be so durable. Additionally, I'm impressed that they can be so repeatable over time.

I've been thinking about replacing mine--where'd you come across them cheap?

picked them up on ebay. they were from a 94-95 prostar. got speedos and all gages (excluding hour meter and tach) for $12.59... all of them seem to be in perfect working order.
