We use Lanier almost every weekend. It's about 5.5' below full pool right now. For the most part this has not affected recreational boaters, with the exception of the shallow docks on the lake. However, itís likely to get a lot worse as the summer continues. The worst I have seen/used it is about 12-14' below full pool. I doubt that it will get that bad this year, but time will tell. The ramps and lake were still very usable even when the lake was down 12+ feet. As always keep an eye on your depth gauge and carry an extra prop.

If you are planning a trip I would recommend you check the following sites:
USACE Lanier Water Level - http://water.sam.usace.army.mil/lanfc.htm
USACE Full Map Book (includes elevations) - http://lanier.sam.usace.army.mil/navigation/LakeLanierMapBook.pdf

My dock is on the north end of Lanier....nice deep water, but we still let it out a few feet, but it does suck for shallow docks. Maybe it will keep some of those big cabin cruisers off the water. :D
