View Full Version : Packing the Buddies

EVERY time I put my trailer into the water, I always check and make sure my bearing buddies are full immediately after I pull it out. I do this because I was told the heated bearings tend to create a vacuum when hit with water, resulting in the drawing in of water. When you then drive it home (or wherever), the water gets stirred up and will lower the impact of the grease. Any comments?

Sandslot; Actually that is the bearing buddies job to prevent by keeping a positive pressure inside the bearing chamber. You can feel the hub of the wheel after a trip and see how hot they get, and which one is running with the least resistance. Keep the pressure right and you shouldn't have a problem. I know my friend had to repack every year or two and after putting BB's on checks, but the bearings are staying in good shape.

Their site is pretty good.

How about a different thread title? JK
