Here's a bad story with, so far, a couple of good chapters.

A few weeks ago on a Saturday morning I get a call from a local lake resident telling me that my boat had broke loose or was released from the mooring and was against the rocks. I had him pull it off the rocks, with the help of the local boat cop. We pulled the boat to find the prop and rudder dinged up and dime to quarter size chunks of gel-coat had been chipped away. Needless to say I was sick to my stomach. I kept asking myself, why did I spend 4-5 hours waxing the bottom of the boat for this??? Any way enough of the self-pity. On Monday I took it to a reputable repair shop and called Ski-Safe. Long story short on the following Saturday, 7 days later, I have a check for the repair.

I can't speak highly enough of the way that they handled the claim!! I sent pics via email and faxed the estimate to them. They said nice boat, that sucks that this happened, and we'll get this right out to you.

If anyone is looking for another insurance provider, I'll vouch for Ski_safe!!! I'm totally sold!!

On the positive side....I was able to conference call the owner of the fiber repair place and one of our Team MC dealers, I'll leave his name out unless he would like a little publicity, and am getting the hook put into the hull. Of course I'll foot the bill for that, but the Ski-Safe, my repair guy, and the Team MC dealer have turned so many positives on what could have been an absolute nightmare of an experience, I'm actually glad to have the opportunity to update the hull. Of course I'll throw the '06 rudder on to complete the update.

Thanks for listening
Jim

As a Ski-Safe customer, I'm glad to hear how they handled your claim, because without testing it or stories like yours, you don't know how they'd handle it. Bad news about the incident, but good news things are being remedied quickly.

What's a "hook"?

MC updated their hulls on the '02 TT boats and has used the hull design ever since. It's a 3/8" I want to say rise, but it goes in the opposite direction. The very edge of the hull at the transom is built up creating a hook. The hook will provide a little more lift at the back of the boat, smoothing out the wake.

From what I'm told, it will be like a different boat with the hook and new rudder.

This is an example of the chips. Nothing structural, but not very pretty.

That hurts to look at! I know, I know. I asked for it.
Glad it's all working out for you.

It really does hurt to look at it but it's great to hear a good story about an insurance company for a change. The bad stories are all to prevalent.
