do you think that if three event skiing was mandatory in pro waterskiing, that the current world records would not be where they are at today?

Nah, but it'd be interesting to watch people who are better suited to slalom going over the jump or trying to get up on a trick ski. :)

Rod is right! It dont matter, cuz once I get the wings off my Slalom, Trick, and Jump skis, I will master all 3 events and break every record in the book! Its ALL in the wing gentlemen, its all in the in the wing. 8p

I'm not sure jumping records would be impacted to the same degree as slalom and tricks, but no, there is no way world records be at the same level they are today if 3 event was mandatory. Injuries would eventually mount on many of the slalom specialists and trickers.
I've not competed in tricks (only jumping and slalom) but jumping takes its toll. I eventually sold my jumpers. That said however, my worst injury occured in slalom.
My greatest respect and admiration is for those skiers to attempt to be overall skiers. Skiers such as Ricky McCormick, Wayne Grimditch, Carl Roberge, Sammy Duvall, Mike Hazlewood, Mike Suyderhould, et.al.
FYI: My slalom injury occured when the rear binding released-the front did not. I tore every ankle ligament and a primary tendon - the one that runs behind the outside of the ankle bone. That tendon is held in place by ligaments and since they were shredded they had to drill a tunnel in my ankle bone to reroute it and hold it in place. I'm relatively better now.

The slalom record would still stand, Chris Parrish is awesome at slalom not sure if he can trick and jump.
I think the only thing that would suffer would be the overall ranking if one guy were better at tricks and jump versus slalom specialist
what's Sammy Duvall's PB in the course? I bet he'd hand Freddy Krueger his lunch in a classic 3 event tournament
