Is this the game near Duseldorf (sp)? I've got a friend from DFW that's at the game if it is!

Just kidding.

What is the World Cup? Is that like a drinking game? :friday:

No, I don't watch it, but I did see a piece yesterday on the goalie Keller. Hope they come back.

Yes, my son plays a lot of soccer and he loves all sports in general - constantly watches ESPN. He and his soccer buddies have a pool going to win the team ball at the end of their season. So it has gotten me involved too.

Copa Mundial 2006

Cheering for the US. Not watching. I will support them via sportscenter.

Not that it has much to do with the World Cup, but they are finally opening the brand new stadium down the road here for the
Chicago Fire (http://chicago.fire.mlsnet.com/MLS/chf/stadium/bridgeview) I think the first game to be played will be in about two weeks. Cool looking stadium, but stupid name....... "Toyota Park" .....

I've always been a soccer honk, watch English Premier league whenever I get a chance. I was in Europe during the 98 cup (where the US stunk it up) and had a blast. It would be nice if we could get out there and play good for once, but what a miserable performance against the Czechs.

I went to some games in Germany in 93 and 94. Basically the same as our NFC/AFC Championship. The crowds were great and the people were a blast. I have always watched with more interest after that experience.

I love the game, was unfortunate to draw Checky for the first game, and next one with Italy will not be easy either.

That's not that bad, we have Pizza Hut Park just north of Dallas.

I went to a couple of Bayern Munchen games while I was living over there. Absolutely CRAZY! We'd take the train/subway back into town after the game. Lots of drunk, pukin', smokin, singin' Germans... :friday:

Hoping that Italy would tie with Ghana. Doesn't look like that will happen now though.

It's all uphill from here.

Daughter played in Pizza Hut Park on the way to winning State this year. ( Mckinney North )

Sizzler,

Looks like some of your palyers for Arsenal , Chelsea, and United are playing good for other teams. Ivory Coast, Drogba I think made a good showing.

The U.S. needs to find some of the baddest NFL linebackers and DB's to fill a roster with. The other teams will simply be too scared to try to score without getting plastered into the ground. The entire team would eventually get kicked out with red cards but it would be quality entertainment while it lasted.
