Yo all!

As many of you know Erk sold my 95 PS190 and left me sitting pretty good financially with it (thanks Erk!) Thanks to a ride in NTIDSL's boat I got hooked and had to have a 197/X7 boat. After the frustration of being blocked from buying from the dealer of my choice due to bad service in the past MC did help out and allow the deal to happen as I wanted. I owe big thanks to Greg Clower and Jason Boertje @ MC for their assistance and Scott and Mike @ Pinecrest Marine for allowing that to happen. However, after much heartache and agony on my part (not having quite enough dough) theboat I liked at Pinecrest was just a few hairs out of reach for my financial plan. I do again want to thank PC and MC for working with me, I am a lifelong MC owner and advocate due to this and PC will get ALL of my service work no questions asked, they are great people. It was VERY hard for me not to buy from PC in the end given all MC and PC did for me but after MANY phone calls to good friends on this site and a bunch of sole searching it came down to we had to do what was best for us. So......... thanks to a TMC member whom I'll allow him to name himself if he likes we got what we feel was a good deal on an 03' X7 pretty much fully loaded. She came to us this weekend via a roadtrip from Erk (thanks dude! I owe you!) and after a water test we signed the deal. I'll be posting pics throughout the week as I get her up to "jrandol clean standards" (she came right out of winter storage to our house) But for starters, here is the teak deck after about a total of 7 hours work yesterday.

Dude, it's spotless now! Before the boat entered back into the garage the garage (including garage floor) got a cleaning. C'mon now you think I'd do anything to harm my boat???? :wavey:

Yep motor box on the floor is correct! The motor has been polished and the bilge wiped out and cleaned. All Vinyl cleaned and 303'd last night and shining bright. :headbang: Carpets were deep cleaned this morning (including the ski locker and motor box) and waiting for them to dry before putting the motor cover back in. The boat now has 1 coat of wax on it. Probably will put one more coat on tonight before bed and at least one more coat on before the week is out. Then she'll be ready for a photo shoot! :headbang:

One day I will ditch the Tristar and get me a new/slightly used one. Once you ski behind a 197 everything else is like spinning your wheels. Well, atleast it feels that way behind the Tristar.

Well the house is sold, I am moving back to Atlanta in a week or two.

Me and the coon dog back in an Apartment, fun fun.

Now, I have to find a job so I can make the payments.

As soon as that happens I am all over it.

Congrats again, Jeff. Good looking motorbox! :)

You've inspired me. I think I'll start my hunt for a used 197 somewhere in the midwest at 7:01 CST tomorrow. One caveat, I'm impatient, so the deal has to happen quickly. If only I could find a knowledgable, hands-on salesman to take my money. ;)

I'm just messing around, Erk. I'll have my current boat for another 3 years minimum. I had another person stop me and gush over it at the gas station before I left for Europe. Reminds me to question why I would be looking for something else.

Doug, you know you have a price in your mind that you'll let it go for......I can get you that price :)

Perhaps, but that price is only good when there is a comparably priced comparably equipped replacement out there. So far, Bret's boat in AK was the only one that truly peaked my interest. And since it's no longer for sale, I've pretty much lost my wanderlust as far as a "new-to-me" boat goes.

I'm not looking for a boat payment.

But please understand how much I appreciate your willingness to work with me.

Doug, you cant get rid of my "twinke" ride. It just wouldnt be right!

Don't worry. So far, the closest I've come to thinking about it was due to Bret's boat (a 94 190 that looked just like mine). I'm far too satisfied a boat owner at the moment.

I am looking forward to skiing it alot!

As I said above it was REALLY hard not to go ahead and pull the trigger on the boat at Pinecrest given how much respect and loyalty I have to them but in the end the dollars and cents just couldn't come together (which frankly surprised me, I didn't ask for the moon) But it's all good. Took a footin set today....the lake is rather small, so you are constantly turning.

I'm training drivers, so it is slow going. While I has footin, I told him to just give me full throttle and worry about driving not the speed. When I got back in the boat, I was talking to the camp director and was like dang these boats are dogs. Have you had them checked out lately? Then I asked the driver how fast he was going and he said 35 or 36! I was like why, I told you full throttle! He said that was as fast as he wanted to go
