I'm looking for a knowlegeable dealer in the North West I'm from canada and have a prostar 205. I'm looking for info on sealing the thru hull shaft to the prop,Im getting more than a drip about an inch in 8 hrs.are there other areas I should be looking at for leaks , fresh water intakes etc: The dealer nearest to me seems unfamilar with the boat or advice.

thanks

I would contact the dealer in Boise - I belive that the owner actually runs the shop and is pretty mechanically inclined ... if nothing else he could possibly talk the "nearest" dealer thru whatever needs to be done.

Have you tried tighting the packing nut on the shaft log to see if the drip rate decreases?

Don't know the name of the owner, I will look and see, I only talked with his salesman last fall looking at a used TT ... also, you probably have an owners manual, but if you don't then here is the link.

http://www.mastercraft.com/manuals/1994_OwnersManual-PS190-PS205-ProSport205.pdf

pages 42 & 43 are a good starting point as Kell suggested

The Seattle Dealer is Cope and McPhetres. Call the store (425) 228-9100 and talk to Kurt in the service department. He is a great guy and very knowledgeable.

I second the kudo for Kurt at C&M in Seattle/Renton. Great guy, conscientious, cares about customers, does excellent work.

Try Rayburn's Marine in Kelowna.

I have a 2004 X30 and after running it in the water this past weekend I had over 2 inches in the hull in about 30 mins of running the engine and driving around the lake. Strange thing is that the second day I took it out, the water level was not as high? Where else can it come in from besides the prop shaft. I heard it is pain to get the nut back in after taking out the packing.. How often should the packing be replaced? What is the average cost considering that the packing is under $10 labor tends to be about 10 times the packing.

As JDK mentioned try Rayburns here in Kelowna, Toll free at 800-665-4529 or 250-860-4232. It usually requires an adjustment to packing box which is a simple procedure or replace the packing.

There is a dealer in Edmonton Martins Equipment, in Calgary Mobius Marine is good but very busy.

The nearest to us in the States is Captains Marine in Kalispell. I had some minor problems with my Pro Star and they worked on it.

Good luck
