Gentlemen, I thought I was drinkin' alone! Good to see ya!
Bush is kickin' ***! :D
Bob, I'm sorry to hear about the loss and hope that next time you are in the area we can get together.
Brad, I'm going to ski with the duck blinds and decoys tomorrow and will try to get a pic!
Thanks, weather was not very forgiving up there this (chug) evening.
Hopefully I will (chug) be able to (chug chug) get out this weekend.
This is a drinking thread isn't it? Hi Bob? Spoons? I don't need a reason. Here's to the drinkin thread!

Toast: To pristine water, a cool breeze, a smooth pull and a full glass!
Oh yeah and some swimsuit pics! My girlfriend of 8.5 years hates it! I hate to say it but she is the one! Meaner than a rattlesnake and that is what I like! 8.5 and still alive.
You need to switch (chug) to beer and stop (chug) sipping that expensive stuff!
PS. Did you hear that? Thats my skull!

Oh yeah, Yes and NO!!
PS. I drink Guinness Stout (since I was a we Irish lad) and anything cold or below cellar temp! (Irish German) Ive never had a cellar, is that how you spell it?

All Hoosier thread! That may not be a good sign. Here's to Leroy and TN whiskey! Don't ever slow down. I am just taking a breather between surgeries! I will knock the little man off My shoulder soon and be ready to rupture something else! I am having a hard time giving up the 66. Maybe you have brought me back. I have yet to ski anything longer! Thanks.

Been waiting for my boat to show up -- one of the dealer's salesmen is pulling it the 400 miles back here - with all but one of the warranty items dealt with. He just called and said he won't make it until the morning...

Just in time for me to winterize it :(

This could be a cool thread! Every Friday night we document our ignorance and enjoy some safe drinkin with buds. Why is it that so far it appears to be a hoosier thang? We are not known for our mash.
Big day tomorrow!

Sorry to not be on here more! Getting ready to catch flight to Thailand this morning and had to do some work on the pool last night and now packing, bla bla bla. Long flight, arrive tomorrow night at midnight! If the plane had wireless I would probably have Doug's post count by Monday!

The last days of skiing are slipping through my hands, arg. Sorry, there is only one TN whiskey the others are trying to get there! Making plans to winterize pool and boat....depressing.

Leroy,
Safe travels to you! We will need to get together with Bob sometime.
Dickel has a different process than Jack. Give it a try sometime just for something different. Make sure it's the no. 12.
Again, have a great trip and talk to ya when you return! ;)

No, but I thought we might put a couple of points on the board. I think we'd have done better if the defense would've actually wrapped up on a tackle in the second half and the offensive line would've hit some blocks.

Man, that kid they got running the football up there in Norman can move.

Bob, I am having a B-Day party for my Father in law tomorrow night and probably won't check in till' late.
Don't worry, I'll still be sippin' some Dickel no.12!

Travel has been good so far, thanks! I'm exactly 12 hours ahead so I'll have the head start on everyone. There is a big Jack Daniels bar just outside the hotel where it is full of women calling American's in for drinks...whatever...we are all afraid to try! I don't think this is an official JD place!

Great food in Thailand, we had shrimp (prawn) the size of lobsters, a lobster >24" (dinner for 11!), all very cheap. A 30 minute taxi ride for 3 was $1.50 last night. Getting to know the local beer, Singha, pretty good. Today actually have a partial free day. Leave Saturday morning at 6AM Thai, arriving in Indianapolis at 5PM local time Saturday, 23 hours of travel. Only see the boats that have the motor on a stick...dangerous skiing behind one of those!

Stevo, I'll try the Dickel #12 sometime. I tend to be mostly beer or wine. JD is actually pretty rare.

Ski time is looking scarce, but would be good if we could get out. I'm hoping for Indian summer before the block busting freeze :o

On a brighter note, goin' camping this weekend at Apache Lake. Campsites right on the water.
Forecast: 92deg high, 60 low and me knee deep into a cooler of Miller Lite by 7pm tonight.

Just asked the wife to pick up some Dos Equis on her way home. I've about had it with this dry county crap. We're having an option election on the ballot this November, but it only really helps the restaurants get around some of the red tape. It's still a step in the right direction. I don't think a dry county ever stopped a determined minor from scoring booze. Just pushed the problem to neighboring counties.

Tyler TX "The wetest dry county on earth"
-Most churches and highest liquor sales per capita in the Country at least according to the A&E special I watched on it recently (and that's without being able to sell beer or liquor outside of bars and restaurants.

Hoosier Bob
10-18-2004, 08:23 PM
We have ponds and the pond we will ski will be Geist. Morse is drained and the others are too far. Remember we are planning on a little night life also! Leroy will probably think he is skiing in a bathtub! These lakes (ponds) are small but should be clear of much traffic. Wind is always a problem and is around this time of year.

Mag_Red
10-18-2004, 09:06 PM

I think it is the last good weekend!

Geist is actually a pretty nice lake if you don't have the normal million people on it, or the water is down or full of algae, which it isn't like Morse. I like below the bridge, but they have dug it out more lately, above it I'm still scared of from 15 years ago fell and when I stood up was in water just over my knees!

Wx forecast is getting cooler, but probably still ok.

I'll catch you guys next season for sure!

Hoosier Bob

Let me know,

stevo137
10-19-2004, 07:22 PM
It all depends on how Friday goes. I have a heavy schedule this week and I need to give the boat a final wax and cleaning, oil the deck, and get it to the Marina by noon on Saturday.
Do you know your forecast and water temp?

I will have a better handle on next year's party so I'm sure an invite will go out to those on owners board who are close and can make it.

Definitely will have a Jack and Coke when I get home. It's been a long week.

Have a good one you guys and Happy Friday (and Halloween to you all).

Guinness is like that to me! It is a hamburger and a beer rolled into one. Man I wish spring was around the corner! Mag, Stevo, Leroy and whoever. What's going on?

This will mark the last ski weekend for us in Wisconsin :( . The weather is supposed to be in the high 40's and rain tomorrow and then partly cloudy and in the low 40's on Sunday. We'll probably get a few footin' runs in and then winterize the boat asap.

It's sad that summer up here in the Midwest didn't get real warm and then before we knew it, it was September. Hopefully next summer will be sunny and hot. All that much to look forward to over the winter.

I guess the Holiday decorations will have to start going up next week.

Found one that some may be interested in. Anyone have similar decorations for the Holidays?

For my next miracle, I'll probably try an India Pale Ale. It's really been a great winter hobby that I end up enjoying all summer long. Kegging and lagering were the best improvements to it. It can be a real PITA filling 45-50 bottles, but filling up a soda keg is a snap.

It's BIG party time tonight! The business school is hosting the winter formal. It's pretty amusing... future business leaders of American who are old enough to know better get stinkin' drunk and behave like buffoons. 8p

Here's an excerpt from the email they sent us...

Tomorrow’s event is open bar including juice, soda, wine, beer and liquor. We are also providing cheese and crackers and cookies and brownies along with a coffee bar.

The Social Committee encourages you to drink responsibly and to not drink and drive.

We also wanted to share with you the following guidelines on caring for an intoxicated person:

If the person is passed out (cannot be awakened) medical attention is imperative as this is a life threatening situation. Call 111 (on-campus) or 911 (off-campus).
If the person is not passed out but needs medical attention and can walk unassisted call (203) 432-2788. The Special Services Van will take the person to YUHS.
Unsure if your friend needs medical assistance?
Call Urgent Care at (203) 432-0123 for advice.

I'm not sure if it's amusing or sad that they are contemplating people passing out  Still, should be a good time!

Yes, I'm sure if you are a Steelers fan (as I know you are) you were loving AJ & JT's performances. It was a rare bright spot in the absolute worst season in franchise history. I am a die hard, life long fan and it is killing me. The Miami Dolphins since 1970 have the highest winning percentage of any team in professional sports (Yankees, Lakers, etc.). To see this just kills me. Wannstedt should have been axed long ago. All the great players we have now were brought in by JJ. I never thought I would cheer for them to lose (better draft spot) but I'll bet they will beat Cleveland Sunday night. Talk about Miami being bad, Cleveland had 27 yds total offense last week, that is pathetic.

When Jimmy was first with the Cowboys, a local news team was out filming practice and caught a player bending over about to YAK. Jimmy walked up and started yelling at him and the player looked as though he was fix'n to die. He complained that he was having an asthma attack. Jimmy just kept yelling and pointed to the sidelines and stated that the asthma field was over there. the dude was cut shortly after that. People freaked but no one was complaining about asthma when he said "How 'bout them Cowboys!"

Brian, have you ever tried one of those premade Cuervo margaritas that you can buy by the jug at the liquor store. They're nice when you don't want to go to the trouble of making one. And they're strong, t'boot.

As usual , put me down for a Jack & Coke.

Suppose to get 6 to 12 inches of snow in SW Chicago tonight  . Maybe we'll bust out the firepit in the driveway, get a little loopy and fire a few potatos off with the spud gun :headbang: .

Can't wait to get home tonight. Hope the neighbors aren't going to bed early :D
