So Stevo, you said you would be back. Is that like the be back I got from Stacey Mougey in the 6th grade? Waiting? :uglyhamme
Sorry bout that.
The ladies needed some alcohol and I had to drive to Illinois. (About 15 minutes to the border).
Mrs. and her friend next door are having a few... :)

You know thats funny, I was just thinking about starting a post about booze laws in each state. This one seems fitting though.

Whats the booze laws in your state? Can you buy on Sunday?

I am on the Ohio border so if a Sunday hankering comes on I drive 3 minutes to the local drive-thru store. :uglyhamme

That's OK, today the little lady went to the golf course we live on and asked for two six packs. They handed her two six's in coolers ready for the cart. She came home and said she did not know what to do so she took the coolers and came home. God I love her! Obviously this was wrong and I have learned from our mistake. After I finish the beer I will gladly return the nice coolers that would look wonderful on my boat! :uglyhamme
PS I usually drive to Oxford on Sunday. It is only 1.5 hours. The golf course works well also.

Well next time you have a hankerin on a Sunday give me a jingle. Same drive time as Oxford and if you want a quick pull before you drive back hopefully I can accomodate that soon!

Well no beer sales on sunday here in Ga. You can buy liquor by the drink but not until 12:30. Sunday Beer is a wonderful thing. Picked up a case of Bullets last night.

Oklahoma- and I'm paraphrasing:

No intoxicating beverages (above 3.2% alcohol by volume) may be sold refrigerated. This means that the beer companies had to develop low alcohol beer to sell cold here. It's incredibly bitter. Real beer can be sold warm with a liquor license.
Liquor or intoxicating beverages may not be sold by the drink. At some private clubs, they have b.y.o.b. This means you bring your own liquors into the bar, and they charge you to mix a drink from your booze.
Liquor and intoxicating beverages can only be sold in a licensed liquor store. No supermarket or wally world. Liquor stores are only allowed to operate till 9 pm. I don't know what time they open, maybe noon.
No alcohol of any kind after 2 am or on sundays.
Yes, Oklahoma sucks, but at least it's not dry.

Dont feel bad Bucky. When I ski Utah it's rather interesting. You have to get "sponsored" by a local to get into a bar if you are an out of stater. All booze is sold in state ran liquor stores, prices are a little high and they close really early, I think 8 pm. It's a different gig for sure.
I was shocked moving here from Colorado. YOu can buy hard liquor in the grocery store here. Of course you can't be Missouri. Pull into 7-11 to fill up and buy a bottle of Jack :uglyhamme

Yeah, I grew up in Missouri, but my family is from Louisiana, home of the drive-thru daquari stand. I just can't understand people who could refuse a cold one. Bible Belt.

I hear those Wisconsin people are pretty easy going. If i am correct hard alcohol is 9 P.M. and Beer is 11 P.M. 7 days a week.

But we can't buy cars on Sunday.

08-07-2005, 11:57 PM
Here in my neck of the woods you can buy liquor by the drink if place has more than fifty seats and serves at least one hot meal a day. Oh yeah, they gotta have a permit of course. Beer is sold till 3a.m. and the bars stay open till then. Sundays is the same as the rest. Liquor store closes at 9, but I don't think they are open on sundays or holidays. We passed the liquor by the drink in our last election. Before then no beer after midnight and no sells on sunday at all, less you knew where to go

Don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out(I'm kidding). I have NEVER met a Frenchman I liked (not saying it's not possible). But, they are some of the most arrogant people on the planet. I've been on a few Joint Op bases where those suckers were. They love to put down the Brits and the Yanks. I always ask them how many times did we have to come bail you out last century and how well do you speak German.

I've been on a few Joint Op bases where those suckers were. They love to put down the Brits and the Yanks. I always ask them how many times did we have to come bail you out last century and how well do you speak German.

Speaking of dumb cashiers. Get this: At Winn Dixie, I used my check card and asked for $100 cash back. The young cashier got all flustered. After the cashier next to her said it was OK, she hesitated, pulled a stack of 20s out of the register, hesitated, handed me 6 of them and asked me: Is that $100? Bay County public schools

Erk, in the south, from my experience, Wal-Marts in small towns are palaces compared to the ones in large metro areas. I would do everything I could to avoid WalMart in Houston. The one near my house when I lived there smelled like a dirty diaper. The ones here are a night and day difference. Very nice.

So far, so good here in Minnesota. Our air temps are still 70s during the day and 50s at night. Our lake water temps are still running 72 as of last night. Barring a major weather turn, we've still got a couple of weeks before breaking out the full wet suit.

Kind of unusual for this time of year around here.

Hey you post W*ore! What the hell was that?!

No, the drysuits won't come out until late October. The heater shirts will come out first. They should be good for now until then. As long as the air is warm, no drysuit needed.

Remind me to bring the spare wetsuit up north this weekend...or footing for you on Saturday morning may hurt a bit. You don't want to be like JR :D :D :D

Alright everyone...here is a picture from SassyDog's open house party last weekend.

This picture was taken at about 11pm after drinking since about 2pm that afternoon (on and off between beans bag games).

SassyDog wanted some rocks in his front yard so us three went searching his subdivision where new houses are being built and found this one. We tied a strap around it and pulled it with Sassy's Dodge but the truck doesn't have a hitch on it and we didn't want to ruin the bumper, etc. and the strap wound up breaking anyone.

So we get back to the house and everyone there was waiting to see what we brought back and I jump out of the truck and yell out "We NEED a bigger truck!" Everyone was like "What the hell?"

So we go back with my 2500hd and 2 large recovery straps. We rolled the rock onto a skid we found. The rock was about 800 punds (we estimated). We then hooked up the recovery straps to the skid and then to the hitch on the truck.

We towed the rock back to Sassy's house which was about 8 blocks away. When we came around the corner to Sassy's house, everyone in the driveway heard us and started to look down the street. Needless to say the skid made a ton of noise and was red hot from dragging it so far.

We managed to get the rock onto his lawn and then all celebrated with a shot of Jack. Needless to say it felt like college all over again.

Here is the picture of the "Usual Suspects." They are(L-R) Jimbo, Rockman and SassyDog.

Have a great Labor Day Weekend and be safe! :toast:

Huge party at Rockman's on saturday!!!! don't let him be bashful and tell you otherwise. it's gonna be the party of the year. he's bringing down tons of easy college girls who love skiiers!!!. i'm getting sooooo wasted!!!. just to add to the drink order......

the "rootin' tootin' "

make one pitcher of lemondade using the can of concentrate(pink or yellow), and save the can
fill the can and a 1/4 more with vodka, and mix in
add two beers for every can of concentrate.
mix and get hammered!!

I skied my a** off this afternoon on some very nice water and then the dual tubers and wake boats came out.

That was it, no sunset ski to even think about.
Multi-directional boat wakes everywhere beating the sh*t out of us.
Oh well, drinkin' a Leinenkugel now and I did get a good ski in...

Stevo, that sucks. I'm sure we can all sympathize as we've been there. But at least you got to ski your *** off :steering: (did you re-attach it?)

We had the opposite experience last night. Skiied my *** off, a jet ski approached, saw us and stopped ( ) didn't mess up our water, and right after we finished, another Mastercraft showed up to hit the course for some sunset sets -- perfect timing.

Glad to hear it Shep.
I was just venting a bit.
I can handle chop from wind all day long but the multi-directional boat wakes tear me up.
Of course I'm going to edit. :D

Last night, there were ski boats everywhere out on the river! Amazingly enough though, we all still had good water. :D

Ski boat wakes aren't as deep and they dissipate faster than deeper v I/O's and wake boats.
Once they get out there, good water is gone quickly...

Don't forget the tubers. It doesn't seem to matter what kind of boat they use, they can always distroy your night.

As I mentioned, last night the water was beautiful until a guy in an X-Star and a few others started pulling dual tubes.
They they do "S" patterns all over the lake and before you know it there are multi-directional wakes everywhere.

Oh well, it's public water, what can you do...

Our lake seems to be the king of all tubing lakes.
They should consider starting a "tubing club". :purplaugh

 I can honestly say, nobody that I know of has ever thought of a tubing club

We did have a guy come up to us a couple nights ago when I was pulling practice for the NIU ski team and tell us how to drive the boat. I can honestly say, that by doing that he pretty much assured himself of crappy water for the rest of the night. :D

Let me know, Rockman, sassydog, and I have been trying to get out a minimum of once a week. If you end up coming this way, bring your gear and we will work something out.

I'll throw it in the car just in case.
BTW, I don't mess around with no footin' but would enjoy watching you guys... ;)

Feeling tropical??? Try this:

In a pitcher mix

1 cup light rum (Bacardi)
1 cup dark rum (Myers)
2 cups orange juice
2 cups pineapple juice
squeeze one lime
big splash of grenadine

pour over ice in a big 20 oz. cup

Drink a couple of these and you'll be feeling no pain ;)
if you ditch the grenadine and add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and a couple of good splashes of angostura bitters, it becomes a "swizzle"...famous in bermuda.....

LEROY......how was the guinness and cider???

Sizzler; I did the have a Guinness and cider last night and that really is great! I could not drink a Guiness, the cider was pretty good by itself, together in frosty mug was outstanding!

Leroy, that's sounds like a dark "Shandy." Good hot summer day drink. I love wine, but more than two glasses and I'm completely useless for the next day and half.

Still waiting for my Starmag, too. :(

Doug; That drink came from Sizzler. I've never had anything like it!

I would have thought you should have received one with a gold ribbon! I'm hoping my star is in the mail stack when I get home tonight. Been in CA this week.

We had a bunch of shandys at a wedding I attended in Chicago. Basically, glass of ice, fill half way with a medium-bodied lager, i.e., Harp, top off with lemonade or gingerale. It took some convincing, but they're pretty tasty.

INVESTING FOR YOUR RETIREMENT

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.

With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.

Based on the above, current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

It's called the 401-Keg Plan

Happy Friday! Now get busy and starting investing in your new retirement plan!!
