Just back from launching and putting in new slip. Fired up and ran great, we ran around the lake for couple of hours. Caught one 12" hybrid striped bass.

Took ski and board, but 58 degree water was too much. Shivers.

This year will be much better, 20 minutes from my boat.

LIMA, Peru (Reuters) - Peruvian officials saved some 4,000 endangered frogs from being whizzed into popular drinks after they were found hidden in an abattoir

"We were checking the fridges when out jumped a frog. It had escaped, they were in big crates," a spokesman for Lima city hall said on Thursday.

Frog cocktails are popular in the Andes because of their supposed aphrodisiac qualities. Shops in central Lima selling the drinks have tanks where customers can choose their frogs.

He said the Telmatobius frogs -- which had apparently been brought from the southern lakes in the high Andes -- were found on Wednesday stored in the abattoir.

They were taken to a colonial fountain in central Lima to splash around before being returned to their native lakes by ecological police.

"There were about 5,000 of them but 1,000 died because of the conditions and in transit," the spokesman said.

I must say... being one of the oldest guys in my class... going out every night for 3 nights in a row is my limit! Holy smokes. I'm draggin a$$ today. I can't keep up with the single students. It's amazing how much they drink compared to those of us with significant others, etc... I guess they need a little extra social lubrication to help them unwind! :uglyhamme But I was proud of myself. My cohort at school boat raced the cohort in the class below us and somehow I got spotted in the crowd and became part of a team. I hadn't done that in like 8 years! But we kicked their butt and I didn't spill a drop so I guess it's like riding a bike.

Now I have to go study macroeconomics..... at least the focus is more on international stuff so I don't have to curse at W's inability to listen to the nation's economists and predict bad corrections to the US economy this time around. I don't think my head could take it.

I'm back up to Boston to work for Liberty Mutual. I got into their Corporate Development Program. Basically a short-cut to senior management on the operations (not investing) side of the business. Best part? 23 days of paid vacation and a 37.5 hour workweek! Hopefully that will translate into more hours on the boat.

It's Charles Shaw $2 /bottle wine. Sold exclusively by Trader Joe's, a organic/bulk store. We had one in Carmel for a short time. It's actually not too bad, but is a little strong, very young tasting wine. But I'm afraid it won't get better with time.....Is a good move to make wine more affordable here in the states. In Belgium you could buy good wine for $2.

Betsy, rest assured, I did not actually drink any Chuck. Just a joke. For my fellow Texas, I highly recommend hitting some of the local wineries. With our climate, Italian variety grapes tend to work out better than the oh so popular French variety, i.e., Cab' and Merlot. A few years ago, we stumbled across a little vineyard called Texas Hills (near Johnson City/Fredericksburg). Their Sangiovesse (sp) is out of site and will run you about $12 retail. We bought several cases of it for our wedding and our guests were quite pleased. Nice raspberry aftertaste. Great with just about anything grilled.

As for white wine, I'm sorry, I just don't have any recommendations as I don't care for it.

You know, we like it. We also enjoy premium beer but Icehouse hits the spot and I get it for $5.50 a 12 pack in bottles. It's made by Miller.

Cedar lake, Indiana. About 1.5 hours south of Chicago.
Do you ever visit this area Zack?

I bought my boat from Pinecrest last summer. That seemed like a pretty good little ski lake.

I bought my first boat from them. They do all of my service and winterization.
The lake is in great shape this season.
The problem with the lake is that we get so many big boats that put in that should be on Lake Michigan and it gets extremely busy.
They are starting to build some really beautiful homes on the lake.
How did you like dealing with them?

Not sure yet, the weather here turned cool and windy again.
I had a half day off Monday and skied my a** off.
Have only had a few decent days out there so far.
This is a pic of the lake on Monday. Beautiful, hot, and calm.
A rare occurrence these days.
How about you Brian?

Yeah man, water is 81, air has been in the 90's. I'm raring to go!!

It just seems everytime I drink it I feel like somebody punched me in the head the night before.

Maybe it was because I was drinking 99 cent 40s.

Man, all day at 6 Flags yesterday, a 4 year old birthday party tonight at 6pm. Can you just hook the Bombay Saphire up to an IV? I get home at 5:15, the party is 15 minutes away-How many cocktails can I get into me before the wife drags me out of the house? The over under is 3.

If I find that Jim Beam guy I am gonna kick his a** cause he sure did mine last night. I guess since I worked Friday I felt the need to make up for it last night. And I thought Jim was a better friend than that! HA!

Boys I need a cocktail and some water. Won't hit the lake until tomorrow, my brother-in-law is taking the redeye in from California and I have to pick him up at 7:15 a.m. I wonder what the homeland security act says about towing a boat through the airport?
