I was at the Krispy Kreme in front of Rivergate mall at 5:15 this morning. Nashville is 2 hours from my door. I bought my boat just North of Nashville in Hendersonville. We come down and ski at Old Hickory Lake all the time. What part do you live in??

Your a lucky dog Tex! I am going to Sugar Mtn (Boone, NC) the weekend after next. Frozen granular surface, 20 trails, and 40"-70" base. Ah, the good life...
H2O... The altitude may be easier to deal with. Of course there is plenty of water in beer!

Irish Coffee is a nice day capper. I also recommend stashing a couple of Fat Tires in a snow drift to drink if you have to wait for a condo shuttle.

Having been to Steamboat last February, I fully understand the "true" ski in/ski out. We were on the left side of the mountain (if you're facing the mountain), and had a brief shuttle ride up to a lift. Funny, I didn't mind waiting so much once I started burying my Fat Tires in the drift.

/one month 'til Snowmass.

I remember several places around Gondola Square, but don't remember the names...

Lucky dog, I love that place! I can tell you Mama's is great for breakfast. Left side of the Gondola.

Stayed at the Snow Flower condo another time before kids with 14 other friends and that condo was pretty fun as the cops had to come by.

Another time at a Mexican restaurant downtown (Dos Amigos?) they had the big Mexican hat and we put on the floor and all did the hat dance song around it with the owners/servers.

East Texas; As long as no one took video! We had video from the party night the police came, which raised questions years later when the kids happened upon it, you have that situation coming up, think about it.

No drinks for me tonight. I'm about ready to hit the sack. Have to drive down to Philly tomorrow at 5:00 AM for a crew race and then hustle back to play hockey at 7:00.

If anyone has friends in the NJ state troopers office and can arrange to have them all going northbound on the MJ turnpike in the AM and southbound in the PM I'd sure appreciate it... The ol' Bronco is going to get a workout tomorrow! :D
