QUOTE=Jorski]Wow! please post more pics and tell us who, what, where and how much ?!!!!!!

Your boat looks fabulous ![/QUOTE]

Factory skins weren't available for my 1990 model year, and I wasn't crazy about the original look anyways, so I decided to start from scratch (borrowing designs heavily from the current MasterCraft models). I have no upholstery experience and this job was way too big for me to learn on, so I worked with a local guy in West Suffield, CT with an excellent reputation who is quite a craftsmen. He did the job for $3,500, which isn't chump change, but was in line with other quotes I got, and I had seen his great work on friend's boats, so I gave him the job. I really don't know what the breakdown was between labor & vinyl, parts, etc. As you can tell, there was LOTS of work to be done. While the boat was apart, I added stainless steel plates to portions of the floor to stiffen a few soft spots as well as injecting resin into the floor. (Thus, I discovered that there really is wood in these boats, despite what I was told over the years, wood encapsulated in fiberglass, but prone to rot nonetheless if that seal is ever exposed).
Back to the upholstery though, if you're in the Northeast, Duncan Roberts in West Suffield is the man I'd send you to for upholstery work, no doubt !

When did you buy this boat? From those pics it sure looks like it was abused.

Bought it brand new in 1990, and yes, it's fair to say that it took its share of abuse for 16 years by our family of 7 kids !! It was used Heavily ! But besides outward appearences, its still a MasterCraft and it has been SOLID over the years & took the abuse pretty darn well....far outlasting the SeaRay we destroyed in a mere 5 years !

I've worked on just about every part of the boat since it was new, from learning the simple tasks of replacing the impeller, to lifting out & then re-installing the transmission (for a rebuild). So knowing the boat as well as I do, I couldn't see selling it and buying someone else's used Mastercraft with who knows what sort of hidden issues. Thus.....My Baby gets new skins, and much more TLC in her next 16 years !!!!!!!!! I promise ! :worthy:

Those look awesome!!!! Embroidery is a nice touch!

Thanks! I thought it came about preety sweet too. DPC Embroidery in West Springfield, MA did that part of the job ($150...ugh!). The "Star" design was digitized from a piece of original upholstery I had from my boat & the "Mastercraft" from a PDF posted here (by who? can't remember, but many thanks!). The Digitization process was most of the expense, but now that DPC has them on file, they told me the embroidery expense would be CHEAP for other jobs if anyone needs them.

passenger seat after.......................

A forward facing passenger seat??? That's the first one I've seen in a Mastercraft. I guess that's typical for the TriStar?

I have a 1990 PS 190, same color, so the "before" photos look kind of familiar (not that bad, but my engine cover looks almost as bad  ).

All TriStar 190 Open Bows have a swivel spotter seat. All ProSport 205s have a swivel spotter seat too. Check out BradD's boat (http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=8881&highlight=prosport)

Would you mind posting his contact info? Does he have a shop? I will be needing my new interior vinyl installed and am looking for a good shop. Your interior looks great!

His name is Duncan Roberts (860-668-0641). Tell him Pat sent you. He'll remember my boat.....he called it his "Mona Lisa" of the year.

His shop is right in his house, and he does all the work himself. Quite a craftsman.

That is sweet!!! I keep telling the wife I'd rather drop $10-15K on my 240sc and upgrade the interior, MPI FI the engine, trailer refurbish, tower and basically model the upgrades after the X-80 amenities than buy a new boat at 60K!!!!

You proved the concept!

Thanks for the pics!

IT LOOKS LIKE I'M SEEING YOUR MASTERCRAFT UPHOLSTERY NEARLY A YEAR AFTER COMPLETION? WHAT YEAR AND MODEL OF BOAT IS YOURS AND DID YOU USE MASTERCRAFT UPHOLSTERY SKINS? OUR BOAT IS IN NEED OF SOME UPHOLSTERY WORK, BUT WE WOULD LIKE TO USE THE LOGO MASTERCRAFT UPHOLSTERY. BUT DUE TO THE LATE MODEL THAT IT IS, I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE. DO YOU HAVE SOME INSITE?
