Fuel Sending Unit 2000 Prostar

Mastercraft Owners,

This is my first post on this site but as an old Corvette restorer I have greatly benefited from those that know more thant me!!

My 2000 Prostar 205 fuel gage was continually reading full. I purchased a new fuel sending unit and when it arrived it was about 2.5 inches longer than the old one. The local Mastercraft dealer instructed me to move the centering spacer closer to the head and then use a pipe cutter to cut the unit to the correct length.

I have followed his instructions and now the gage reads half full all of the time.

I'm not confident in the instructions I received and was looking for guidance.

I dont know the answer but my 00 190 read full for a long time and then the gage dropped quite quickly... Obviously the wrong sender or something in that boat.

Aren't there two tiny screws on the top of it. There should be one for full, and one for empty. I would suggest keeping your empty setting with some gas in the tank.
