View Full Version : Check engine light.........

We were out yesterday in Tail Race canal outside of Charleston when a big storm started approaching. We turned around and hit it hard back to the boat dock. I ran about 35-37 MPH for about 15 minutes or so solid. When i got to a no wake zone and slowed down to idle, my check engine light started blinking. Not sure what to do, I turned the blower on (as if that would help) and when we got out the other side of the zone ,I hit it again back up to 35 or so and the light turned back off. Anyone had this experience? Is it normal for it to come on when you are running that hard for a sustained period?

Low oil pressure at idle due to heat build up for running at WOT for so long?

What engine? I know I have the LTR in my 02 197 that used to have a bronze oil pump gear that went south on me.

Just something to watchout for.....
