Tough day for sure, just got back from dealing w/ the lakehouse in S. Maine. All he(( broke loose up there, lake is up over 3 feet, and I spent a good chuck of the the day in a wetsuit helping secure friends dock/boats etc. Everything is a mess, Water is 1' from cresting my wall, which I would have never imagined ever happening. I'll bet it rising that 1' foot tonight ;(

I'll post some pics tomorrow. Fortunantly my MC is nice and dry in my garage. :D

wow, fortunately we're high/dry here in seacoast of New Hampshire...glad to hear MC is safe, but bummer about your wall...happens at my parents place in OHio all the time...got use to filling up garbage cans with water, great 2nd use for fat sac pumps... :)

Here's one. The dock is supposed to be at the base of the stairs, and if you'll notice there is a ring sticking out of the wall right below my sons foot, the water was at that ring when I left 2 hours ago (pic was from this AM) Notice the mastercraft decal on the boat house

Another one, showing my nicely mulched, soon to be hammered slope. There is a strip of lawn undereater the water at the base of the stairs

ya, there's lots of floating crap already, this will set back our ski season big time. I'm heading up tomorrow to check the damage. I'll follow up w/ more pics. The lake house was dry and the driveway did not get washed out, so yes it could be worse. Just caught the news, we got a foot of rain w/ another 1-3" to follow today..

Thats wild Mitch! God speed to you and family!

If you see a large wooden ship float by with animals on it I'd recommend unleashing the MC from the trailer and getting in the boat. ;)

My Father-in-law drives for a hot-shot company (1-ton pulling smaller loads) and just called from Pensacola. Said his next load is a FEMA trailer that he's hauling up to the NE. Looks like relief efforts are already getting started.

Good luck and stay safe.

on news just mentioned that last time NH flooded like this was in 1936, same time New Hampshire also had the worst hurricane to hit the state...say it is due to warmer currents coming to the northeast atlantic...

I went over the Merrimack River Falls in Lowell MA at 6AM this morning. Awesome! It was a media circus, with 4 sat trucks and a even a few media tents. Lot's of rubbernecking going over the new bridge, incl me. BTW, it was pouring rain on my entire hour commute. Hope to be at the lakehouse by 2ish. I'll tell ya, I'm a lil scared of waits for me :o

What were the bins for?

filled em w/ water to sorta hold the dock down. "Assuming' they're still there, I believe they helped, to this point, in keeping the dock from flipping and breaking apart. I'm choosing my words carefully, cause I'm not sure what to expect when Miller Lite and I arrive this PM. I'll post some pics later. Cya!

wowzer, think Milton Three Ponds (just north of Rochester/Somersworth) looks about the same as well...fortunately we're on higher ground at our place and didn't have dock/lift in yet (since water level always stays the same)...the dams are so old in New Hampshire that some are owned privately or by the towns...this one is operated by the town so the fire chief chose to flood his lake/homes rather than displace residents in larger rochester...what a sacrifice to make...

great pictures, thanks for sending along...

I'll post them soon...I'm just pissed now.
Lines broke last night and my lift is gone...
In the river somewhere.
4,000.00 and my boat never even sat on the lift. It will be a week or so before we can start to search for it.
In what condition it will be in is anyones guess.

anyone lookin for a hewitt high lift? (when found, unknown condition  )

i know, i know, i missed a great opportunity for a terrific video opp...def'n this fall when we get hit with a massive hurricane like what happened after our last big flood in the 30s...warmer ocean temps should make for an interesting year...
