I only heard it from 1 customer. Normally big stuff like that I hear about from lots of people, but he claims to be in the know.

This was my first boat right out of college. 1988 SN 2001. My wife and I were looking at cars and one night she said, "lets buy a boat" that next Sat. I was towing it home. :steering:

My first boat was a 10' "Surfer" A fiberglass two person speed boat. Max hp rating for the hull was 20 hp. I had a 50 horse Merc on there w/overbored carbs and advance timing. It sould run 50 mph, and also pull a slalom skier up, deep water. The wake if left on plane made my PS 190's wake look like a tidal wave. We;re talking a 3-4" tall wake here. And yes, it did track very well, believe it or not.

My next boat and the last before my MC, was a 1984 Hydrostream "V-King" It featured:
*Floor mounted gas pedal
*Steering wheel mounted trim buttons
*Jack plate
*Dual steering
*Land and Sea fixed speedo pitot
*26" chopper prop
*25" Cleaver prop
*Nose cone
*Rigid motor mounts
*200 Merc w/milled heads, and advanced timing
*Ski pylon

It would run over 85 mph easy, It could launch the hull completely out of the water...without hitting a wave, and it produced a smaller wake than my '92 PS 190. It was a great boat. I owned it for 12 years (about 1000 hours), ran the sh!t out of it, and sold it for $1k less than I paid for it. Oh, I never lost a race with it either! :D

KTN CMU, I like that last pic of your Glasstron. "Flying the hull" Great pic, IMO! :)

Brian, nice!

Here's a pic of our old boat, a 17'10" "Ski Deck" made by the Deck Boat company of Gatesville, TX. This hull is still used, I think, by Galaxy Boatworks. I think it was powered by a Ford 5.0 @ 185 HP. Stern Drive was OMC.

Laurel Lake Skier

Beautiful Whaler WOW ! I owned a KATAMA same
color interior. I have owned about 15 Whalers
from 1968 - 2003 13 Footer. We currently have a 15
Footer set up for skiing. A great website for Boston Whalers is

http://continuouswave.com/whaler

Check it out.
As a Mastercraft Dealer myself I often use the analogy
of how Mastercraft are put together in a simliar fashion
to Whalers

Great looking Boat

' Bought it brand new, used it for 3 seasons, and put 107 hours on it. It'd do 62 on the GPS with the 5.0L TBI, great cruiser, sipped gas, but....

I traded it on the MariStar, and, in one season, I've put on over 125 hours... More fun!

This is the previous one.. Bought it new in '95, with a 150hp Johnson.
Real pocket rocket. Great waterski wake. We tried putting a 'Big Stick' and later a tower on it, but it was too small when you had 3 or 4 riders with skis and wakeboards.

I run at two lakes both are at altitude, at 2100 ft I am at 47 mph, and at 4200 ft around 45mph.
Very smooth and quiet motor, awesome pull. I do not find the gas consumpsion that bad as some have suggested, no worse than my Nautique with a GT 40.

Zach S,

Is that really your boat? Awesome! :worthy: While I was at Disney a couple of weeks ago, I rode in a 1984 Grand Craft replica of that Chris Craft. Great ride!

They've got a couple gorgeous Chris Crafts down at Lake LBJ. My cousin bought and restored my father in law's fist boat, which is a beautiful mahogony outboard. Since he sold his 87 Supra Comp, the Wooden boat resides in his garage.

Not really my boat. Its my parents boat. Actually it is for sale. The picture really doesn't really do it any justice either. It is in very nice condition and runs like a top. It is a real head turner.

How much are they asking?

Zach S
10-09-2004, 09:33 AM
They are asking $25K. That includes a trailer that is in perfect condition as well. I dont remember how old the trailer is, but it is a fairly new tandem axle.

I've restored it to running condition, but am always on the lookout for a good old outboard mechanic to help keep it that way. Bill Z

I have a 1963 16' Cruisers with a 75hp Super Seahorse on it. I will try to get a digital of it before my brother-in-law arrives this week to tow it to it's new home. It was purchased new by my Dad in '63. I would probably keep it if I had a 2 stall boathouse.

This doesn't really fit this thread, but I didn't want to start a new one just for this.

I was driving home last week and passed a Ford F650 pulling a huge Fountain center console off-shore fishing(?) boat with three 250hp Mercury outboard engines on it. Both the truck and the boat were black, and both were pretty awesome.

(Yeah, but I'll bet the wake was terrrible.)
