We usually free ski at 15' off, unfortunately never been through the course. I ran into a guy on the river with an X9 and he said he always free ski's at 22' off b/c the wake is the best. If I have an X2 should my wake be the best at 28' off to compensate for pylon placement? Or 22' off. I'll experiment with it, does anyone have experience with this or comments?

It depends on your wake, most boats have bad points in their wakes. like the 22' off bump on the ps190

It also depends on your speed. The faster you go, the farther back the bump moves. You'll just need to play around a bit. It's no fun trying to slice through it!

15 or 28 off. You'll have the rooster tail "bump" at 22 off.

22' is a good place to free ski though, because you get used to punching through that bump... assuming you don't let it build bad habits.

Yeah, like bending over at the waist to soften the blow! Didn't really realize I was doing it (even a bit at 15 off) until I saw myself on tape. Exactly the thing I shouldn't be doing!

Ooooh yeah. It's almost better when I am bent a bit, then if I go OTF I do a somersault and it hurts less than a faceplant. I've had some big yardsales where I look around wondering where I am, and can't find my ski. Now that I videotape myself, they should make for some entertaining viewing!

Dunno, i tend to make it half way through the summersault before smacking straight into my chest.

I surface w/ sore ribs and no breath.

Personally I enjoy looking straight at the tip of my ski to see it bounce up before I go forwards.

I usually free-ski at 22 off at 30 - 32 mph. On my '95 PS190, the wake at 22 off is way better than 15 off at those speeds.
