Does anybody have the part number for the alternator on a 99 LTR engine? MyMC.com wants 340 for it. Anyone know where I can get one cheaper?

If yours is bad, have it rebuilt. Unless it was stolen, burned up completely or you want to drastically increase the output (which you don't since you're asking about the OEM part #), replacement is going to be more expensive. They should be able to give you the part number.

For my 2001 LTR, this is the alternator. I don't know if the 1999 is different.

I would check around. My alternator went last year on my 2000 LTR. I took it to a rebuilder and he said it was dead and could not be rebuilt. I asked him if he had a source for a marine alternator, and he checked, and got me a 70 amp marine one for $160. So, I would check around. They are easy to remove/replace too. I replaced mine myself with no prior experience.

The Indmar part number for that alternator is S755024. That is a 55A Alternator. I am going to get on my soap box one more time. If you buy an alternator from somone other than a marine dealer make sure it is a MARINE alternator. A MARINE alternator will have the identification code J1171 somewhere on the body of the alternator. Also, if you go to a higher output alternator you MUST increase the size of the wiring between the alternator and the starter solenoid and the alternator and ground.
