This was my first time trying this... I'm pretty pleased with the results.
For whatever reason, I didn't think to take pictures before I started, so the first pics are after I sanded it and applied one coat of teak oil. I think it looked worse before that, a previous owner had applied a think shellac/veneer type thing that was like 75% peeled off, pretty ugly. I pretty much followed the steps in the FAQ one this site. I think maybe I should have sanded more aggresively in the very beginning, but I was sort of afraid too.
First pics are with a crappy camera, later ones are with a better one.
